Yeah I don't get it...
Was hoping that with Deep Down being their F2P online thing it could essentially be a test and training ground for the engine while they work on dragon's dogma 2.

I really tried playing this on the old consoles for a few hours, it is manageable but bad enough to affect my enjoyment

I forgot how awesome Dragon’s Dogma: Dark Arisen is! I’m enjoying the hell out of it and I’m struggling to understand why I didn’t play it through to the end on PS3 plus I never went to the Bitterblack Isle! Visually the remastered version is impressive and looks better than I expected with none of the framerate issues I recall from the original. The map is massive and I just decided to go wandering as far as I could just to uncover it. A lot of it is very barren and some mode of transport would be good but it’s a nice world to get lost in for sure. I kinda wish there were more dungeons and caves but maybe I just havent explored enough. The Pawn system is also super cool and a really ingenious game mechanic but the best part of the game is the combat. It’s so exhilirating taking on the bigger enemies with a party of four especially when they start raging after taking so much damage!
Hopefully Dragon’s Dogma Online will get a European release as I will be all over it if it’s anything like Dragon’s Dogma. Other than that I can only dream of Dragons Dogma 2 built from the ground up for current gen hardware or maybe even next gen hardware by the time it ever releases and if it ever releases.
I'll probably get it at some point. Loved the original on PS3 but the framerate issues made it really hard to play at times. That alone is a good reason to revisit the game.
