Got my refund just now. The whole process, from start to finish, took three emails and about a week's time. Surprisingly, they were very professional throughout it all. That said, I'll be able to rest easier tonight knowing that my money's no longer in their hands, and will take this whole fiasco as a valuable life lesson.
But for those out there that may not have known, yea, it's still possible to wash one's hands of this mess if they so desire - though for how much longer is uncertain.
I can never be free, because the shackles I wear can't be touched or be seen.

One would think that the longer they keep on developing (or twiddling thumbs) the game the bigger chances are to get your refund.
How was their initial reply? I tried once but just got "You're ineligible to be refunded because of kickstarter blabla"

If there is a problem on your end, as a customer, they are on your ass... relentless and fast.
If they are the ones who fucked up, in this context, you being unhappy with the product, wanting a refund, it's like talking to a sassy Tommy Chong or that Sloth from Zootopia with an attitude.

This is why I only order from Amazon when building computers.
Had some issues with a motherboard, they crossed shipped with almost no questions asked. dip shit postal delivery woman keeps sending my shit to the wrong address. They replace it like nothing happened. |
