Judging by the first episode, absolute piece of trash, even worse than I expected, sadly. Writing is just abysmal and acting mediocre at best. Story seems like it's going to be 90% soap opera crap and 10% actual mist/monster related.

So... like the movie?

It's been a long time since I've seen the film, but I remember enjoying it, despite its trashiness.

This doesn't have much redeemable qualities on the other hand. Plus the whole story will be stretched out over who-knows-how-many episodes (and possibly seasons), instead of just 90 minutes, which means a heavily watered down version of the actual interesting parts.

The movie was great. No need to watch an alternate bad written universe.

Watching the first episode felt like going through one of those Youtube-sponsored live action adaptations, where the poor viewer inevitably ends up rooting for the mist, hoping for it to put the entire cast and writers out of their misery as quickly as possible. Laughing Sad

Turn a novela and great movie adaptation to at least 3 seasons long series. Yeah that will definitely turn up good. I'm with ixi - 5 minutes of horror 40 minutes of small town melodrama. People will stay in that town without food and water for 3 months until it's finally cancelled. Embarassed

Oh f***ing hell. Even the Amazon releases are censored. Why have the characters speak the words if you're gonna edit them out anyway. Guns, gore etc. no problem, but God forbid someone drops the F-bomb. American FCC bullshit... Rolling Eyes

It's about small town drama and bigotry. You will spend more time watching some gay teen being beaten and then fucking his oppresor who is crypto gay and raped girl who is befriended by her alleged rapist and other neighbour angst than with mystery and monster. And if you count on some tentacly eldritch delight, well you are going for some disappointment. They are mostly visions of dead people or some shitty cloud monsters and leeches.

I have no problem with that. However, the writing and acting are pretty bad and cringeworthy. Laughing

It could be interesting, Spike TV though scares me more than the Mist itself xD
(Not to mention the fact that the movie's ending was flawless, not sure we really need to ruin that moment) Very Happy

Flawless? The ending?

Sure, I see the despair and the effect they were after when they decided to ignore the ending in the book but I hated the ending since I felt it was too forced. The original ending in the book was far more interesting (no spoilers).

Both endings were equally good.
Stephen King even mentioned that he liked Darabont's ending better.

Yeah, for me the ending of the movie served the right amount of bleakness, playing on the empathy of the audience and the element of surprise, a unique take that I really enjoyed. Razz Darabont was asked to change it (multiple times), but I'm glad he stuck to his artistic vision.

Anyway, good news guys, it was just cancelled!

Love the movie. Everyone I know hated it.

The tv show....was cheesy but I still enjoyed it. I think cuz I binged it on Netflix. Otherwise I think I would of lost interest if I had to wait between episodes.
