Recently I've got this problem with usenet (from tweaknews): when I download something that might be incomplete like a one part missing the temp folder fills my whole disk with randomly named part files without extension.

I tried different newsreaders and turning on and off the SSL connection to na avail.
Even on different network. Did any one had similar issue?

No, but could it be quickpar? Altbinz does auto fixing when enabled and runs quickpar when blocks are missing.

Tried SabNZBd and now it downloads ok, but on GrabIT, Newsfalsh+ and NZBsomething I got disk filled with trash. SN had turned on par fixing the rest not. Maybe that was the issue. Strange Scratch Head

Yeah, use SABnzbd or NZBget; it's what the cool kids use these days.

Combine with Sonarr for TV Series and Radarr for movies and forget about manually searching for stuff ever again. Except the occasional game. These still need to be grabbed manually.

SABnzbd is the best, I had it running as a webservice so I could leech stuff from everywhere, especially coupled with sickbeard/couchpotato.
I haven't used any newsgroups in years though, since the takedowns got ridiculous, so I permanently switched to private trackers + seedbox.

I used SABnzbd but run into some weird issues. I don't remember what now. But well no choice so SN it is again Smile

No requests

But there are public search engines for everything posted to Usenet, like binsearch.net, then you still need a usenet client and account to download. But there are tons of fake releases, bundled trojans and whatnot, like in the kazaa days. Then lots of other uploads have their names obfuscated so that only people who know the uploader know what to look for. That's why there are more private indexers for which you usually have to get invited and/or pay, which offer better well maintained and cleaned up search.

I specifically didn't request anything solid, nor named any software Laughing

either way I'm ok, no need anymore
