Makes sense that PC players drop in numbers. EA insulted our asses long enough, while other games seem to eat more market share, by offering something a bit more refreshing - see games like 'PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds'.

And again: the shit maps they released with the first DLC show how much they stray away from what made the Battlefield franchise great, turning this into a quick-in, quick-reward, casual, multiplayer COD-inspired game. With FUCKING hero units.

EDIT

Just checked the stats:

PC: 15,374
Peak 24h: 22,855

XBOXONE: 18,599
Peak 24h: 51,307

PS4: 43,089
Peak 24h: 75,055

These numbers can't lie that much. It's clear, I guess, what their audience is. Rolling Eyes

I get the impression Battlefield 1 is very similar to Battlefront 1 with its problems.

But everything will be better again with Battlefield 2 my friend.

I think it's the usual problem:

I.e.

"Let's spend 95% of our budget in visuals and audio and the other 5% in actual gameplay"

Something that has plagued the gaming industry for almost 2 decades now.

Gameplay doesn't sell games, graphics do.

Gameplay makes you keep playing, graphics don't.

Guess which is more important for a publisher?

DICE has/had too many projects on their hands, hence we got this copy & paste of Battlefront.

And, correct me if I'm wrong, BF1 still has no good rentable server options etc?

BF1 is amazing when it comes to sound and graphics - however, I really dont understand why they went the direction they did.
BF1 feels more like Battlefront than BF2-4

As BF4 is dead I'm looking for an FPS to play - thinking about this (price drop on origin) or PUB. BF1 will soon be the same clusterfuck as 4, but not sure if Battle Royal is my type of game. Help plox Cool

If you don't know anyone who can lend you an account to test the games, you can wait until Battlefield 1 is added to Origin Access (it was announced as a future title) and play the game for one month for 5$. If you don't like the game, you'll only be out 5$ instead of a full priced game. If you like it, you'll get to save 10% off the price with Origin Access.

How long is the BF1 campaign on average?
Only tried the very first mission back then, then stopped for other games.

But might playthrough it for some nice boom boom action.

First one or well the tank one after the "Black people die first!" tutorial level has the longest play time and most maps I believe at five or so separate levels varying between infantry and tank combat.
(EDIT: Well alternatively it's to show war is hell - and fun for video game material. - but yeah that's apparently common enough to be a trope. - http://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Main/BlackDudeDiesFirst )

It's about 3 - 4 hours long if you try to take it slow but it is also possible to just rush it (You're in the fattest tank after all, it's also field repairable and actually reliable.) whereas the other war stories vary from 2 to 3 levels though at least they keep things a bit varied though the entire experience is probably over in less than 10 hours or so for a moderately skilled player and it's not like you'll be going out of the way finding every rare piece of weaponry scattered about or the actual collectible items most of the time though some of these do exist as well.

That could work as a indicator too.

So for this game it's reported at 6 or so hours for the main campaign on average and around 8 hours for full completion though for a slower pace player it's a bit over 8 hours on average and 18 for completion. (Near 20 hours is pushing it a bit though, stopping and looking at scenery or for screenshot purposes perhaps. Very Happy )

Faster plays can apparently get through it in 5 hours or 11 for full completion and a speedrun reported 3 hours and 45 minutes for finishing the game.

these premium dlc maps are really good but too bad ea fucked up and fragmented the playerbase, these maps should be enough given the lack of content. someday they will give them for free just like with bf4/hardline

still this game really knows how to set the mood with its music

So ultimate edition renamed? Confused

The way I see it, every life is a pile of good things and bad things. The good things don’t always soften the bad things, but vice versa, the bad things don’t always spoil the good things and make them unimportant.

bf1 at launch was like 60$ deluxe ed + 60$ season pass
now they added bf1 revolution edition which is all of the above at 60$

nice marketing scam there boys

so people who bought the game at launch at full price basically payed 60$ extra for the season pass just to get that 1 dlc lol
