For me it always ran on WinV/7 just fine, but it doesn't/didn't support my GPU.. so I had to run in software mode. Running an ancient game in software mode on a 3600mhz processor? *laughs* It was running around 900fps Very Happy

Quote:

Recent ATI and Nvidia drivers do not support this game. As such it was only possible to play it in Software Rendering mode. Several fans tried to identify and find the causes of this problem, later gathering at the Nvidia forums[22], and asking the Nvidia for a fix. Nvidia did not show availability for this. The fanbase tried several paths to a solution, culminating in asking known game graphic modder Timeslip if he could devise a fix.
The unofficial patch is available at Timeslip's homepage[1], fixes the issue with current graphic drivers and improves the game in some aspects, such as allowing higher resolutions.

Time to reinstall! Thanks Eps! <3

Now, that would be a nice arcade sim to play. Loved the Crimson Skies back when MS released it on PC (never owned the original XBox, so never played the second game).

Absolutely! If they can manage to capture even half the fun of the original, it's going to be a great game.

Be glad. The Xbox version was neutered -- they took out the create-a-plane feature Crying or Very sad

Omg! Loved creating my own plane...

So, it was the derping of the franchise.

But, I really hope that I'll see a new Crimson Skies, though i guess it will be another Kickstarter project. So, yeah, i'm kinda of excited!

I'm a big fan of this Kickstarter craze going on now. We get to actively fund the games we want, being made by the devs that care rather than the suits that just want profit. If FASA/MS/Smith&Tinker allows this to go ahead, I'll be all over it like a wino on a giro Laughing

The rights for Shadowrun, Mechwarrior and Crimson Skies are at Weisman now. So, three of the most beloved franchises are finally back in the hands of one of their creators.

Yeah, we all would love that sequel, but we will take the strategy game, too, mr. Weisman. So please, please, make it happen.

Indeed but I fear we will end up with :

- A simple World of Warplanes MMO clone ;
- Short or even no story mode ;
- Micro transactions / Premium *cheat* packs ;
- Windows store exclusivity ;
- Stable on XBone/X but buggy and crashing on Win10 PC (like Forza H3)
- 100 € price tag (ultimate edition)

Sad

So big skip ahead ...

Vastly depends if they can take that license and avoid being a Windows store exclusive. But, yeah, don't see it happening.
