Friday 13th (May 26th)

http://f13game.com/

Description:

Friday the 13th: The Game is one of the most highly-anticipated horror titles of all time. You will finally be able to take on the roll as Jason Voorhees and Camp Crystal Lake counselors. This is the game you’ve been waiting for; the chance to kill or be killed on Friday the 13th!

Features:

Gameplay
Friday the 13th: The Game is a third-person horror, survival game where players take on the role of a teen counselor, or for the first time ever, Jason Voorhees. You and six other unlucky souls will do everything possible to escape and survive while the most well-known killer in the world tracks you down and brutally slaughters you.

How Will You Survive?
The entire focus of Friday the 13th: The Game is multiplayer. Survival is entirely up to you as you either stealthily hide from Jason or work together as a team to escape. Think you can take Jason on? You and the other counselors will have that chance as well. Be warned though, nothing is ever certain and no one is ever safe!

Play as Jason Voorhees!
For the first time ever, you will have the opportunity to play as Jason Voorhees, the most famous killer in horror. Stalk your prey and ambush them whenever you see fit. Friday the 13th: The Game will include a variety of kills, new and familiar. You’ll even get to unlock various Jason incarnations from the movies as well as two entirely new designs never before seen.

Camp Crystal Lake in All Its Glory.
Mirroring Camp Crystal Lake from the Friday the 13th series, players will try to survive in a camp ground setting. Complete with a lake, cabins, and crazed killer who won’t stop until you die a gruesome death.

Be Kind. Rewind.
Every aspect of Friday the 13th: The Game
is drawn straight from movies you know and love. We’ve carefully crafted this world to remind you of everything you remember about Friday the 13th, right down to the visual fidelity of the 80’s. This is exactly how you remember it.

Priced at $39.99 USD/$53.49 CAD/£30.99, Friday the 13th: The Game is now available on PlayStation 4 through the PlayStation Store, carrying a 3.2GB download size. For this week only, buying the game also gets you a dynamic theme.

Single-player is expected to be added in an update coming this summer. A physical version should also arrive in the future.

Anyone got this or played it? Im a huge fan of the franchise and grew up with these movies so its super appealing but it seems somewhat overpriced and the multiplayer only aspect is really off putting. Ill see if I can hold off until the single player game is added which hopefully wont be too long Very Happy

Friday the 13th: The Game shouldn’t have been released in the sad state it currently is in. From glitches that make players invincible to terrible matchmaking that had me waiting over 10 minutes to get into a room, it’s putting it nicely to call the end product a mess. It’s really heartbreaking to see since there are still positives that mange to shine through if one can look past the galling lack of polish. The core gameplay, when it works properly, can be fun when played with friends, and there are some refreshing ideas underneath the jank. Several months from now it may become the multiplayer hit it strives to be, but right now it’s an embarrassing release that can’t be recommended.

4.5 / 10 Surprised

Pros:

+ Has some really great ideas
+ More fun with friends
+ Is appropriately difficult to escape

Cons:

- Filled with glitches
- Ridiculous server issues
- Limited content

I think Ill wait for it to be patched and a campaign mode to be added.

The physical version of Friday the 13th: The Game will release on Friday, October 13 for PlayStation 4 and Xbox One, Gun Media and IllFonic announced today. It will cost $39.99 USD, the same price as the digital version.

Included in the retail version is an exclusive free Bloody Jason Skin for all playable Jasons, as well as a free pack of clothing for each of the playable camp counselors.

We now know the full plan of what to expect from Friday the 13th: The Game in the upcoming months. Gun Media and IllFonic detailed upcoming plans, and revealed that the single-player content will consist of both offline bots and challenges. Before that happens though, the game will be getting the following updates in the Fall: Free Emote Pack, Spring Break 1984 Pack, Part IV Jason, Jarvis House Map, New Counselors, New Kills, New Clothing, Virtual Cabin 2.0. Afterwards the offline bots and a demo of the challenges will be released. Then during Winter, players will see new counselors added, two new Jasons, two new maps, new clothing, an unannounced new game mode, and the complete single player challenges.

Nice! Im still waiting Smile
