But the gold made it into King's Landing anyway before the dragon even attacked oh well poor horsies carried a 5 tone ballista, with all the ammo, for miles for nothing.

No, I just checked, at the beginning of the whole scene (36:0 the old bugger Randyll Tarly says and I quote "all the gold is safely threw the gates of King's Landing".
After that Dick-On shows up and they talk about shit, the dialog really has gone south to Dorne.

Lannisters move a head with their usual plot armor with great abandon. They're really stretching it. Im gonna drop its score by a few points if they're dealt with only at the very end

I can tolerate some of this but in s07e06 it just felt wrong in my brain the whole time. The show jumped the dragon so to speak.
A shame really because I believe this is the best looking season so far, the locations and environments are just excellent this year. |
Haha yeah, it can be quite infuriating that such high production values and quality cinematography are being "wasted" on a streamlined product with little depth so to speak. One can tell that there's still a solid team behind the entire thing, but the new approach/material, the huge following and the need to adjust the writing accordingly in order to appeal to a broader audience really have changed everything.
Ye ol' times when I would get absolutely absorbed by the narrative and care about it (a lot, including every detail ) are gone for me. I'm still entertained, that I can't deny, but it's a different kind of (superficial) entertainment, in the same way I can find pleasure in some mindless summer flicks.
Also, the amount of tricks being used when it comes to dealing with near-death situations is getting scarily close to another show, also involving walking dead people. Nomen omen

I like to imagine him sitting in the dark obscurity of his dusty wooden studio, bent over his rag paper in a reclusive manner, with only a candle to light the room and fiercely holding his quill pen next to The Big Book of Pain, mumbling intelligible grunts with a giant sadistic grin on his face.

So these are zombies but not zombies, only mid controlled zombies by other better zombies?

Sounds like fan fiction, but the plot has been like that for a while anyway. |

Considering the show's evolution, that might as well be the plot. It also ends in a bitter sweet way, as RR Martin said the books will end (that was a long time ago, when he was still working on the books).

I guess most of the main characters will die and the Night King will win and maybe sit even on the throne.
As i can't really imagine that the asshole George is going for a Happy End with the show finale.

Previously, my theory was that an asshole like Littlefinger would "win" the game of thrones, but the people would be so sick and tired of shitty rulers who lead them to their deaths that they'd revolt and take control of the realm for themselves. But with many of the assholes now looking like they're on the chopping block, and with the show turning into a "you are the chosen ones" story, this is looking a bit less likely.

Came from the same source as the leaked s7 script, so most likely correct,

From what I read, RR Martin doesn't have much to do with the show's writing and that's noticeable.

he doesnt, but he always had the ending of the story in his head and told the show's writers about it, so most likely the ending itself will be as grrm intended.

really curious to see how much will the book and show ending differ If this leak is true i am kinda fine with that and will be fun to watch (i guess i am only one )
Hopefully GRRM will one day finish the books ... although i will pobably just read some extensive summary as i am not gonna bother to read it all (just wasnt really fun to read at the point I stopped - with bunch of great scenec hidden drep in ton of boring travel diaries )

yea i would like to read the books, but i just cant't cuz of the way they're written with each chapter focusing on a different chracter's pov, instead of telling a chronological story. this is fine for movies but not for long book series, it really is hard to read.

They know the ending, but that doesn't mean this ending has to follow it or that RR Martin hasn't changed it (the original plot was a lot different). After all, in the books there are some important players that haven't been killed off, some of them aren't even in the show.
