I agree, don't expect mind-blowing events but I'd definitely recommend it for the characters alone, their psychological warfare, ego clashing, and giant charisma. All of them have personality and don't come off as boring, which was my #1 fear when I started watching it.
What 4treyu said is also true though *shakes fist*
Writing is decent to weak IMO (tries way too hard to be cool but mostly falls flat on its face) but the characters are ok, mostly due to the actors/actresses though (the two male leads and maggie, mostly)

In case anyone has missed it, Season 2 just ended, and it was a damn great one in my opinion. Still over-the-top, still dramatized, and still artificially forced at times, but also genuinely entertaining, with the last two episodes being like some sort of Ocean's Eleven -
Stock Market Edition
It brought the Axe vs Chuck battle to a whole new level of insane perversion, introduced new characters (the main one being Taylor, fairly interesting despite the not-so-subtle pandering and asexual attack helicopter identifications xD), produced more twisted character development(s) with the believable acting as always, solid stuff all around.
Season 3 is already confirmed (for February-ish next year), may the Showtimegods be gentle with us.
It is. The dynamic between Giamatti and Lewis is enough on it's own to be a reason for watching this show. And that ending. Greatest pissing contest ever
Recommended for everyone. Now give Season 3 now!!!
Very nice surprise. Was great to watch right from the start. It did have some unwanted moments/characters but in the end, it worked out well.
Wonder how will they finish the show. Given neither of them wants to lose.
The way I see it, every life is a pile of good things and bad things. The good things don’t always soften the bad things, but vice versa, the bad things don’t always spoil the good things and make them unimportant.
A cousin of mine told me S2 finale could have been a good series finale, hence I could safely start watching the show with no fear of Showtime being Showtime and cancelling it without proper ending. Is that right?

Yes and no. The second season has an amazing escalation, with proper character development, touching all the story-arcs and with the last two episodes feeling very satisfying, though while it showed the end of a long battle so to speak, there's the fact that the war is still very much open.
It's hard to explain it without revealing anything, but there's definitely room for more, although finding ideas and resolutions to keep the show fresh and maintain the high quality is going to be quite challenging.
Well, I'll just have to agree with Ixi Oxo on this one.
It lands on a really "bloated" note, that, I hope will explode with all of it's puss-flavored goodness.
I guess that the actual problem is the same as the ones with this "realistic" {no need for CGI} kind of serie: Only the tense-thrlling-story keeps it from falling apart like a chinese motorcycle.
Great actors are not a shield that deflects bad scripts. Wait and see, I guess :>

John Malkovich has signed on for a guest-starring arc in Season 3 of Showtime’s hit drama series Billions. Malkovich will play Russian billionaire Grigor Andolov.
Finished S2 a couple of days back... it's a good show but it could be so much better if they focused even more on the three main characters and stop having some awful acting celebrity popping up every 30 min or so.
Also lose some of the pointless "aren't we edgy, eh?" scenes that have no point whatsoever
Still, will definitely check S3

Damn. This season has been solid so far. Moving at a great pace while focusing on main characters.

Watched the first two seasons and what can I say, I fucking love this show" in all the good possible ways. Interesting characters to the roots, superb acting (bypassing some overacted script moments like the time Axelroad went to the Yale club) and overall sexy plots which I think are true in nature to reality. Overall this is pure finesse!.
If the prosecutors were all like Chuck I think that Tesla owner would be prosecuted to have and sell a Ponci pyramid alike company
For me, this show is a 10/10.- wanting me to watch more.
As Ixi says, the writers gonna have a hard time to keep the level of this. But I think they will, because somehow the guys knows from the inner circle of power in Wall Street, how things are done.

No they don't, since any schemes of the higher-ups there are either closely guarded secrets worth a tad bit more than a measly TV show script or were already blown wide open.
Speaking of which, Giamatti's character is very loosely based on an attorney who also used some unconventional methods to uncover stuff that dwarves axe capital in comparison - which is also based on a real world fund that he busted. With Sorkin (financial journalist, the guy who wrote "too big to fail") as a co-creator and some halfway decent writers, they've got juice for several seasons without this turning into another damn procedural.
Why there is no release for episode 4? DEFLATE release doesn't seem to have raced.

The new epsiode was fantastic. The quality of the show is so consistent.

Episode 7: Poor Connerty. Felt so bad. It looks like all the good ones are losing.
Kind of felt like season finale but underwhelmed at the same time. 3 seasons developing and it was all over so quickly.
I hope he has some sort of victory at the end.

Episode 8: a fresh start. Amazing episode.
