I cut my losses with CRK, so probs a good time to buy up for +1800%. Exxi burned me hard.. I'm across the board with the top 6-7 crypto's at the moment, I truly believe it's the future esp. coins that make currency perform work or benefit people in some way shape or form rather that current fiats.

So how do I invest in bitcoins? Ive hardly looked into bitcoins at all Smile

You have a lot of online brokers, allowing you to turn you hard-earned SEK into "x"-coins.
Just have to look which ones operate in your area.

examples:
https://localbitcoins.com/
https://www.coinbase.com/

I never directly invested in any currency deal, nor do I know these sites to be "the good shit", so proceed with due diligence Smile

Step one do your due diligence, research, research, research.

Some tips:
Coinbase is fairly reputable, but basically find somewhere to convert fiat into btc. Then join an exchange like poloniex, kraken, bitrex there are a number of options out there (I'm using poloniex at the moment which is working fine for me). With accounts in hand you can buy bitcoin, deposit it to an exchange and from there you can convert btc to other altcoins.

DO NOT TREAT A CRYPTO EXCHANGE LIKE A WALLET / BANK ACCOUNT !!!
I know a guy that lost an insane amount of $$'s in the mt.gox scam. Therefore I like to ensure currencies have well documented and easy means to get currency out of an exchange to offline wallet.

Does it make sense to buy some hundred euros worth of bitcoin (litecoin/ethereum/whatever) just to keep it for the long run?

like stock exchange, it has risk. and since you are in germany: you should keep them for 1+ year, otherwise you are breaking the law (geldwäschegesetzt und sonst was) and the tax authorities could ask you some unpleasant questions

Right now Eth still has potential to rise, and BCC that launched 2 days ago are interesting (i've already tripled on BCC). Also have a little in 4-5 altcoins that havn't moved much, but if they solve a problem and become a big thing in the future there's potential to make a lot of money. BTC valued at 2500+usd though.. how high can it go? you'd need it to hit 5K just to double your money.

Well it was at 500 at the beginning of the year... Why does ETH have any potential? Where can you actually use ETH?

ETH seems to be at it's alltime high though :/ I looked into NEM and it would require me to buy 2500€ worth of (10.000) XEM to harvest some funny amount ~30XEM in 2 months... Neutral

I would not invest in a single cryptocurrency today. I've been trading bitcoin and ethereum for years, and we are very obviously in a huge bubble right now.

Yeah the transaction fees have been a joke lately. ~15€ for a transaction, get fucked Laughing

But still, bought about 500€s worth of btc when they were at $3000 this summer, feeling quite good about myself.

Was looking to invest in bitcoin, with all the craze lately. But while I was researching it, I ended up investing in stocks instead (CFD's technically).

With big tech companies it's pretty stable and they continually grow year on year (20-60% for bigger ones). And if they start dropping at least you can check the news and see if there's a reason, instead of waiting for bitcoin's bubble to potentially burst.

They don't move as much monthly, but most brokers allow you to buy on a margin (essentially you just pay 10% or 20% of the actual value bought) which means a minor jump like 1-2% translates to anywhere between 5-20% profit (most tech stocks jump more than 2% a month on average, and will vary +/- 1-2% daily, 5-10% being extremes).

The risk with margin is that you can also potentially lose quickly (and technically lose more than you invested), and most brokers will sell your stock if you go into the red. But any drops do eventually correct themselves and go even higher up, so it's just a matter of having some extra money to withstand the drops (or be careful and invest when the price is at a low).

Anyway, just wanted to throw it in as an alternative to potential bitcoin investors.

Anyway, anyone is there some good alternative digital currency to invest in now in case BTC Burst?
Like Litecoin?

@BearishSun: I own some tech stocks as well... it's the only industry I feel slightly competent at, so I bought some stocks each month for the past 2 years... looks pretty good too currently:

So yeah, I agree with you on the tech stock front, good call. I don't want to do any daytrading, so I buy them for the long run.

My only regret is selling Nvidia, I bought some at 60€s, sold them at 120... and they are at 190 now :/

Yeah it seems pretty good. I only just started with 500$ (20% margin, so technically 2500$ value) but plan on adding more every month (if things keep going well). So far two weeks in and up 8.5% (~70$).

Also going for long term, but managed to grab a quick 20$ yesterday as the prices spiked, and the re-bought at low price again (although it's a hassle to keep watching the graphs).

As it's possible since a week or so, I'd just short BTC Very Happy

Seems difficult to do in Belgium, as it's not allowed here because BTC isn't regulated. Lynx is offering it, but not sure if I should trust it.

I bought a tenth of a coin when it was around the £5300 last month. Now worth another £800 on top of what I put in.

Quite happy atm.

A guy at work bought half a bitcoin when it was £500. He went to Australia 4 weeks ago and when he came back last week he had made enough on bitcoin to pay for the full holiday. Bastard!

3 or 4 years ago 2 guys from my team sold a few coins (close to 10 each) when they were around 1000 PLN (280 USD). Yesterday they went for 60000 PLN Very Happy Imagine their pain - you could buy a decent flat here for that 10 coins, even in the bigger / biggest cities.

I still have some BTC left which i use for some stuff.
But when they are used up, i will switch over to Bitcoin Cash probably. It's said to have way less fees and transactions should also finish faster.

Sorry if someone has mentioned this already, but is there a broker website (or cryptocoin variant) where I could buy different cryptocoins (doesn't necessarily have to include BTC)?
