If you’re planning on playing Gran Turismo Sport with a PlayStation VR headset, Yamauchi says you won’t get sick – as long as you keep the car under control.
Gran Turismo Sport is releasing on October 17 in North America and October 18 in Europe for PlayStation 4, Sony Interactive Entertainment and Polyphony Digital announced today. It will also include PlayStation VR support.
The game is compatible with the PS VR, providing the user a 360 degree 3D environment to experience. There is a dedicated VR Drive mode in the Arcade Mode where you can drive one on one races as though you are really sitting in the driver seat, surrounded by a real car interior.
For those who can’t wait to get their hands on the upcoming Gran Turismo: Sport, Sony has officially announced that a free, 4-day demo of the game will be available starting next Monday.
Demo’s up for download. Can sit in menus and watch replays/scapes and drool on dem graphics in HDR. Game looks real at times( in replays, not counting the scapes with actual photos for backgrounds), none of that forza7/pcars2 shitty gamey look.
Imagine gt sport on a 1080ti. 4k60fps with even better IQ my god...

I don't know jack shit about racing games, but Gran Turismo is a nostalgic blast from the past for me (from the PSX era), so I gave it a try. And I'll say one thing: it looks absolutely gorgeous. These screenshots above aren't as doctored as you'd think them to be, the game really has that almost-photorealistic quality about it, especially in the middle of a race, when you don't really have time to hunt for an occasional low res texture or shadow.
The handling and driving model also seem quite decent, and the feeling of speed is there. Not my cup of tea in the long run and I'm worried about the amount of actual content, especially considering the multiplayer focus, but I've gotta say I did like what I saw playing the demo.
Handling is good, really felt comfortable with a Gr.3 Evo last night.
Sadly, they are experiencing connection issues, by the time the qualification was over and matchmaking was due, I got myself looking at a black screen.
Good game, very good game, played some online races last night and did all the driver's school and missions available in the demo.
I really hoped that GTS had a more civilized fan base, but there's a lot of body-to-body action during online races - which is frustrating, because even if it's not your fault, you still get red SR points.
Yeah, the idea that both the victim and the perpetrator are equally penalized is pretty stupid. I have some other gripes too, for example there seems to be a lot of "ghosting" in this game in general (cars becoming immaterial).
But I agree, it's a surprisingly good racer. I don't normally play these games, but I actually have the "ah, maybe just one more race" syndrome while playing this, which is a pretty good sign for the full game. I think it's the graphics + handling combo. The driving model is really solid - not too realistic, but just realistic enough not to be considered arcade, and coupled with the visuals it immerses you in a way I rarely felt in games like this.
It seems GT might just be back in play. If they manage to build a solid community for it, it might be one hell of a game. I might even consider buying it, which I didn't prior to the demo
Add me if you want, I play during evenings ( europe ).
Also, ghosting is ok, applies to cars that wash out into corners, or hit barriers and suddenly have loss of speed. I think it's fair for quicker players and it makes it easier for players to recover.
Sure man I don't know how much I'll be able to play, since the demo is time limited and I've got a shitload of work now. But I'll add you, maybe we'll be able to play some (or maybe I'll indeed buy the full version). I'm AqumaPL on PSN, you can add me too if you're online
Had some troubles connecting last night, but after it got sorted, I created a private game room with a friend and played with various cars. Managed to fiddle around with the livery editor and photo-mode, I can say i'll be spending lots of time into creating and shooting cars.
Well I was going to instabuy this but I think it’s going to be an instaskip!
No single player career mode and focus is online multiplayer?! I’m reading a lot of negative comments about this game. Definitely not preordering but will check out the reviews.
