I was handed a book, told to learn it, and then I had to pass the exam on a college campus with a moderator, cameras, no objects allowed on my person, and a locked down computer.

Anyways, I imagine he still has to take the exam.

Well, something like ITIL is really a must have for bigger companies.
Even more so for one that is offering services to others and needs to maintain a certain level of quality and keep track of all open issues.

ITIL is like an ancient view of how an organizations is supposed to be. Think of it like a military camp, you - the worker is on the bottom of the food chain, and if you want something done, you need the approval of everyone in the chain. Takes ages to get anything done. Shit is ancient. I fucking hate it. It is the opposite of being agile.

And pax, I own a business, we work in small and large corps. Every time someone mentions ITIL we say "okay so you want to stay in the 70s? You want to have a release once a year?". We always win them over to agile dev.

And yes.. I make loads of money, you can call me rich. Nothing I like to brag about though. I might have been even more rich if I said "lets do ITIL", but i do have morals Smile

ITIL kills innovation.
