Steam UI overhaul incoming, Valve presentation confirms
Quote: | An overhaul of Steam’s UI is in the works and will focus on changes to the library and game launch pages, according to a Valve presentation at the recent conference Indigo 2017.
The slides from Valve’s product designer Alden Kroll, posted on the ValveTime forum, say that there’s an “overall UI refresh and update coming”, but give no date for the changes. Specifically, Valve plans to add the option to quickly launch recently played games from the library home page. That’d be welcome – if you’ve got a large collection and you’re juggling 3 or 4 games, it’s a (very minor) pain to have to keep scrolling between them.
The tweaks will also highlight games in your library that currently have some activity, whether than be events, updates, or simply titles your friends are playing.
Valve also promised a new “rich display of content” on game launch pages. The company says the reworked pages will better highlight your friends’ activity in that game and flag community screenshots, artwork, and guides.
The news does seem to back up images that were discovered in a Steam Client beta version released in February, as noted by SteamDB. They showed a streamlined library with a ‘recent items’ section and a game launch page that gave links to current streams of that particular title. Clearly it’s something Valve have worked on in the past – whether the final result resembles these pictures or not remains to be seen.

Does anyone know why I can't hear any sound from Steam Link on my TV? I have connected the Steam Link via WiFi, updated the firmware, connected it's HDMI to my AV Receiver (CEC enabled) and everything else seems to work just fine.
I just hope that the reason is not PS4 Controllers or such..

Steam Link worked immediately without effort for me so I can't help. I plugged it in, attached wireless xbox receiver and it asked me to enter code into steam. That's it.

It was up to my TV. After switching sound settings it started working. Now it works as it should.

Yeah, I had the same when I upgraded firmware on TV. It reset all settings, took me an hour to figure that out. Sorry I didn't see your post earlier

well it wouldnt be steam if valve wasnt breaking shit just for the sake of.. wait.. why DO they keep changing shit we never ask for them to change, anyway?
can you imagine just how much shit valve would be in if EA ever tried to make origin not suck? or if gog somehow managed to convince publishers to give DRM-free an honest try? (you know, via bribes and threats of family murders, etc, because thats the only way it'd ever happen)

If you got a 4K display, you'll know current Steam Ui is shit anyway since there's no scaling option. My list of games is tiny to read - I had to find a custom skin that increases the font size and even then Steam has hard-set rules which makes it cut off the game name <.<.

I'm very happy with mine, as well. It works really well with Xbox controllers (fuck the Steam Controller) and pretty much any wireless keyboard I tried.
Of course, a day after I received it in the mail, Samsung announced it would feature a Steamlink App which will pretty much the exact same thing as the Steam Link box and since I got a brand new Samsung TV ... well I guess I could use it later in my bedroom on a spare non-smart TV.

What the fuck is up with Steam, application barely reacts (everything is done in slow motion), not even after a restart. This is some real bullshit.
edit:
Seems this is it:

I sometimes have the few problems since ~2 weeks.
Happens after a fresh PC start.
Gets fixed by restarting Steam.

Nope it won't. I reinstalled Steam even, clearing the Web Browser Cache (fix from the link) seems to fix it for the session, but it'll probably return once the client is restarted.
