The Boss Baby
The movie looked cheap, really cheap; like it was made on a pretty medium to low budget, and I suspect it was... I doubt the studio had much faith in it.
..which is a shame, since that's really the worst thing i could say about it. It feels like the kind of story Pixar could have come up with and told 10 or so years ago, and WISHES it could still come up with today. Pixar could have turned the concept into a better film - at their best, they've always had a way of injecting so much emotion, heart, fun, creativity and thrills into their stories; this film felt a bit lacking in the power and excitement department. The action never quite hits high enough or loud enough for it to be a classic.
BUT, heart is what it has plenty of. It was a genuine surprise - not as big as I'd hoped in the laugh department, but it was clever (i genuinely laughed at the exciting fantastic chase sequence as witnessed from the adults point of view) and a really emotionally sweet story that I absolutely crave and just don't get enough of these days.
...and I love the unreliable narrator plot device - it's always been such a cool way to tell a tale, with so much freedom to take the story virtually anywhere, and when its coupled with a solid story idea and a steady hand to keep tying it back in to the core narrative, it becomes one of the best and most unique ways to tell a story - I'm surprised more filmmakers aren't making use of it.
I also really appreciated the fact that they made a genuine family movie... not a kids movie. bar one or two 'silly, childish' bits (which fit the story, so i never felt annoyed by it), it never dipped into that shitty kid genre with gross-outs, overly silly childish shit, or the god awful dreaded musical number.
...oh, and that ending. That was a really really cool way to finish the movie, it was really well thought out and brilliantly executed, tying everything together wonderfully.
So yeah. Not a classic, but dammit, I enjoyed the movie. I really did, it was one of the few films this year that's left me with an upbeat, happy and satisfied feeling by the end of it.
There, I said it. BRING IT.

Wonder Woman - 6/10.
Talk about overrated. All the praise as if it's a cinematic masterpiece when it's just another by the numbers comic book movie with yet another video game-y final fight.
The action scenes suffered from too much slow-motion(is Patty Jenkins is a pseudonym for Zack Snyder?) and none of the supporting characters were memorable or engaging(quite a few good actors wasted on nothing).
Gal did alright, it's not easy carrying a film on your shoulders, her acting's still a little rough, and she needs to work on her accent. It's hilarious for me to hear an Amazon speak English with an 'Israeli accent'.
I guess the praise is because the leading character in this has a vagina and is strong woman who don't need no man, even though apparently she does, because she spends some time pine-ing for Steve's dick.
I wouldn't be surprised if the virtue signalling idiots claim that if you don't praise WW you hate women.
"I think Call of Duty resonates because it's believable and relatable," Sledgehammer Games cofounder Michael Condrey says.
Believable and relatable...Yep, sounds like Call of Duty

Was really boring for me as well. The cgi was also pretty bad, especially during the first hour.
Clearly its just the stupid brain wash again.

i rewatched kong in 3d, and it makes a LOT more sense as a spectacle gimmicky flick.. i can imagine people watching it in 3d at the cinema enjoying it a lot more than people who saw it as a, you know.. movie, rather than a thrill ride.

From badly post-produced cardboard effect to amazomg it speaks volumes!!, how would you rate the 3D? I'm considering giving it a shot.

id rate it pretty highly, its one of the better uses of depth ive seen in a 3d movie... i dont know about it being natural, and sometimes its deployed a little improperly, but its as i said.. spectacle and gimmicky, which makes up for its shortcomings as a 'movie'.

Passengers 6.5/10
Nothing really terribly inventive about the story but it is plausible and packaged nicely. Nice afternoon SF flick

Alien Covenant (2017)
It was a nice but kinda predictable film. The origin of Aliens was kinda ironic albeit disappointing.
The story could be better and it wasn't clear what happened between David and Shaw. We've got too little information, so speculation and theories run wild.
It's a shame we didn't get to see the David's transformation (Prometheus 2) and what was happening abroad the Engineers ship and\or the planet...Now this could have been pretty interesting.
Spoiler: | And why did David help them kill the Alien? It didn't make much sense. He didn't have to keep them alive at all. |

Wut.. THAT WAS Prometheus 2 as much as the next one is, technically, 3. Indifferent on all it.

Resident Evil - The Final Chapter 3/10
My head hurts - the script was no existing and ive never ever experienced a movie where they change camera view every 1.5sec or so..
There is no way in hell its possible to keep track of what is happening with that camera speed.
Avoid.

Alien Cócóvenant 5/10
Only thing I'll say is if you think people are/act stupid on the trailers wait until you see the actual film. And even fixing that with a few tweaks it still feels that the movie wants to be prometheus, alien and aliens and the overall tone suffers a bit with that.

Bretty good but -0.5 for a laughable "main" antagonist and -0.5 for the tardo group and their komedic hijinx. Nice work from the leads tho
