Started at around ~80 GB and then each patch added more via the MP additions, latest update actually optimized the file architecture a bit or the game would probably be around 120 GB.
(Two free levels for each patch and then cosmetic stuff like character and weapons skins.)
From what I read the trial allows only the first chapter of the campaign to be played so while 10 hours would have allowed you to beat the entire game (With time to spare probably, depending on difficulty level.) it's not going to work with how the rest of it is locked off.
EDIT: It's about the same with DOOM(4) actually if you own the MP packs, latest two Call of Duty games too come to think of it although for those you can opt not to install the MP component and file size shrinks by about 1/3rd or so.
(In addition to the campaign data there's also a lot of shared data between the modes.)
Halo(5) on XBox One seem to be around 80 GB too.

but the problem will be the xbox live license stuff, we need something like xliveless for the games for windows crap. but i doubt that will happen, and always working with an fake account for store games is meh

The port is fantastic and game ran great even on my old gpu.
The single player gameplay is bombastic and fun. But new characters are shitty and uninteresting. Made me more sad that 2,3 are not on pc.
but still - Game is worth playing for people who like classic linear campaigns.
I even did some multiplayer horde mode and it's quite fun but nothing crazy

Your face is bombastic. The game is easily the worst in the series. Trust me, i paid the 60 bucks for this, it was not worth it. At least the X1 GOW edition controller i got is nice.

I've found the SP campaign quite underwhelming to say the least... GOW 1 was way way better than this, but at least I've got like 10 hours of Horde playing to justify it.
Now, where's my SP free content?

I agree. It's worse than 1-3 but way better than judgement.
