Can't say I'm too excited about this. The developer, zero marketing budget, the fact that this is coming out of nowhere and on consoles pretty much kills the hype. That, and the fact that the series ended eight years ago.
Now, if they'd release a Battlestar Galactica themed dogfighter with a full length, dynamic campaign, THEN that'd be something to get excited about.

It's set during the first Cylon War, 40 years before the TV show and as such most of the characters from the show don't have a place in the narrative.
