oh, about guild wars, since many of you enjoy it so much, and it doesn't need monthly fees, i was thinking about picking it op one of these days... but since i don't really have much time to play, i have some questions... is it necessary to join a guild or to make friends online to enjoy the game? i'm sort of an explorer and play most games on a very slow pace, trying to explore everything and most ppl aren't into this... so, will hired henchmen be enough to do quests and all? apart from friends, the cool cape and the guild wars, are there any other benefits from joining a guild?

The easiest thing in the game is to join a game, i was not motivated at all to go with a guild, but i got a cool cloak, thats why im in a guild

yup cool cape is one the thingy u get from guild besides u will have guild hall wchich r huge, there u can have fights with members of guild (training for later play on pvp arenas) and place to stay i dunno really of all benefits. and sure u dont have to be in a guild. im always sending annoyning messeges in cities/outposts like "anyoooooone for a a partyyyyyy" and i can always find someone to tag along with. its a good thingy to make quests with other ppl cause later on mobs r getting tougher and there is no way to go there alone. yup, nice game

events are really what makes MMORPGs fun.
for example, the Halloween event pulled me back to the PvE aspect of GW for a few days because it was fun running around with a pumpkin on your head and take all these monster henchies.
and the Christmas event also made me play a lot more PvE because I had full set of candycane weapons and santa hat and the snowball arena (where every class starts off with the same skills, but those skills are christmas oriented, like Trow Snowball, Hide Rock, Yellow Snow [poison], MMMMM Snow Cone [selfheal], Avalance [cripple], etc)
those were a lot of fun because they were something new, people get bored of repetitive PvE experience because they dont change over time, by adding more content or events it makes it longer for the players to get bored of the game ^_^
I still play GW because it is IMO the best MMORPG from the PvP aspect. People dont get bored of PvP as quickly as PvE, simply because they are fighting people instead of computer. people get smarter and develop new strategies (just look at all the Flavour of the Month builds since the release of GW -> smite, air spike, spirit,IWAY, ranger spike, the list goes on and on) this is why I've played GW longer than I've played WoW, because regretibly, WoW's PvP wasn't as strong as it's PvE and I got bored of playing it after a while (the line ups were also bad back when I was playing...)

wow end game is indeed very boring, the lack of raid instances is limited to MC and BWL.
my guild farm mc / bwl on weekly status. and well it got boring.
so i tried pvping, got to rank 12 before giving up.
so yeah, end game is the 2 40man raid instance and / or pvp.

Yeah, wow endgame is only for the people that are willing to lay down ALOT of time on it. That was not for me. After the 80 or so MC raid it got really fucking boring, so I also quit with alot of my friends. The game was fun all the way to 60, its just after that there just isnt anything to do.

I am thinking of buying guild wars, I called a few gamestops to see if they had it and one of them said its actually free you dont have to pay by month it says, u just have to buy it and have internet connection, so i have 30 bucks on my gift card left still and might just use 10 bucks towards it..i dunno yet
