I didn't talk about gfx or other tech and I disagree with your second sentence.

Used the origin free trial offer trial to give the trial a go and all the problems with the yarred version are still there.
Guess frostbite (or this crap implementation of frostbite) just doesn't like win 7. Or my win 7 in particular

It doesn't make any sense since without all that crap, with a clear focus on the good stuff they have, they'd still have 50 hours worth of content. I'm getting sick and tired of this trend, I hope one day I'll be able to play an RPG again which grips me from the start and doesn't let go untill the end. |
I feel exactly the same. In fact, I think Inquisition was worse in that regard, and I consider ME:A improvement over it. Yet, Inquision got all praises and ME:A gets bashed.
For example Eos and Havarl do not appear as grindy, since they start constrained and get opened gradually.
On the other hand, on other planets you are bombarded with huge amount of minor quests, and after some time you completely forget what about most of them are. And each of them has repetitive Drag... Architect fight on the end. As well as some stronghold location with lots of enemies to destroy, with no real plot.
.
On other side, all linear content in the game is pretty good (same for Inquisition), as well as fighting and traveling by Nomad.
I really feel if there were a modding tools to strip the campaign of all the "tat", it would make a great game. Same for Inquisition.
.
With all said, I think Mass Effect 2 was the best game in a sense of having good even quality content. Even ME1 struggled between having good story driven content and repetitive exploration content.
.
For some strange reason, I greatly enjoyed last year Technomancer game. Yes, it is lower budget RPG, but at least it not huge open world thing, so it actually gave me some old Dragon Age/Mass Effect vibe, while at the same time not being terrible.

what a pile of shit this game is, it deserves all the hate. the fact that its a mass effect game it deserves even more shit.
i was so sure it was a stinker given the fact that they didnt really show any game content except very close to release which was very odd for such a big franchise, but like everyone else i still hoped somehow.
still i wanted to try it for myself and managed to play around 1h until you get to the nexus and start talking to the people around there and the cringy and bad dialogue was the last straw.
with all the recent news this franchise is pretty much dead, you can't even make a sequel if none of the characters are interesting. just abandon ship and reboot like with the new spider man movie.
watched the ending on yt just out of curiousity and was bland as fuck, then rewatched the one from me2 and you just can't compare the two. shame on them.

If you got the attention span of a five year old, you should probably stay away from these kind of games. Just watch a youtube of Microsoft Klondike or something simular.

I never said the game was great. But he make it sound (and others to) like the game was the biggest piece of trash released in recent years. Play for one hour and then watch a youtube video for the ending, I can't take that seriously.

meh, you see one shit game you've seen them all. it is the biggest pice of trash released in recent years, up there with other shits like colonial marines and other forgotten junk.
1h was enough to get a sense of what the characters/story/dialogue is
this is why they keep releasing this kind of garbage, why would they struggle to make it any good if all the bob barnsens out there accepts this?
if youre a lifeless zombie then 10/10 this game is made for you.

I gotta admit, I am kinda in Stefans boat here... played the game yesterday evening for the first time, exactly like him up to the Nexus speaking with the first few guys... and already I am fed up with the dialogues. There was the "My face is tired" talk of the commander, then the crogan with the terrible tranny voice... why the hell does he speak that high pitched? Did they want to show that crogans do not all talk like big walking boulders? Why?
Ah well, I'll give it another shot to see how the game opens up, but I wont explore many dialogue trees here.
I do like the epic space opera vibe though, space ships, unknown worlds etc... it just could have been so much better.

Is the voice thing German VO? Because there's no way I would describe the English VO for that character "high pitched".

Was that comment directed at me..?
I didn't play with german voices. Very rarely do in games.

Ok... Not sure if it's an attempt at comedy or just a genuine love of being a stereotype.

Nah, playing it in english aswell. Except for german games I play everything in english. Don't know why I was so upset about the voice, I guess I just expected a voice like the krogan on your crew from the original Mass Effect trilogy. I think Wrex was his name?

http://kotaku.com/sources-mass-effect-andromeda-will-not-get-single-pla-1796548159
Quote: | BioWare also shelved plans for a sequel to Mass Effect: Andromeda, sources said.
While reporting that news, I had been pretty sure that Mass Effect: Andromeda wouldn’t be getting single-player DLC. There are few people left at BioWare Montreal who could even work on it. But I wanted to be more confident, so over the past few weeks I’ve confirmed the news with three sources familiar with the company’s plans, all of whom spoke anonymously so as not to jeopardize their careers. Unless BioWare decides to make some sort of drastic pivot (plans can always change!), Mass Effect: Andromeda will not be getting single-player DLC. |
