Just announced at Microsoft's E3 show, Forza Motorsport 7 is coming to PC. It'll be a Windows 10 exclusive, though, and chances are it'll only be available through the Microsoft Store.
Chances? Oh it's definitively getting the Win10 Store treatment being so closely associated with Microsoft directly.
That platform still needs work but they're not really doing much but fixing smaller bugs and tweaking the apps appearance (Transparency wow! ) so yeah, needs work.
I suppose that's true, store app itself is one thing whereas the actual games Microsoft are publishing on the Win10 Store are seeing some more effort now which has resulted in some pretty nice improvements from what I've heard about both the Forza and Gears games.
Windows Store is still a complete shiat !
- 50GB game = 50GB to download (with often shit speed here),
- Updates are usually huge as well,
- "Please rate our game in the Stoar if you like it" popup message while in game !,
- Managing installation folders is a mess right now,
- Game files are crypted to the bones (if something doesn't work with your system = wait/prey for an official update, no workaround allowed here),
- Ads, reminder for eacheverysingle DLC that may exist for your game on loading screen.
Moreover, Horizon 3 has also been the worst game regarding stability/performance I had for a decade.
It even didn't work the first month after launch until the first hotfixes. And not a single fuck was given from MS.
It took them ages to fix the game, showing they really don't handle the vast variety of the PC gaming world anymore.
Forza 7 looks awesome, but hell I would have payed twice the price to have it on Steam.

seems they improved the engine a lot, the requirements for full hd @ 60 fps are kinda low. but that explains why the xbox one can handle 4k (and it might be way less demanding than the open world in horizon)
will have a demo on pc prior release, thats nice. what is not nice: only the xbox version will have splitscreen they havent stated why its cut from the pc version (maybe due to low system requirements, but that would be dull) and i hope they bring it with a patch very soon after release
@pax: if you buy the ultimate edition it gets unlocked 29th september, i hate that more and more publisher do that -> pay for the overpriced edition to play it early...

We have only one option to prevent that publishers go ahead with practices like that: Don't buy the ultimate edition, ridicule everybody that does (and secretly slash their tires)
actually i would only buy it if it includes all upcoming dlc stuff (not like horizon3 were big dlcs werent included) and not for the early unlock which is bullshit indeed
btw, this or PCars 2? I think I like the car selection and the premium feel of this game more while I expect more on the simulation front from pcars 2 :/ Am I wrong?
in this moment i would prefer this over pcars2, main reason: fucking big playerbase cause of cross play with xbox one/s/x (and i havent ordered a rift yet ). also it looks nice and run even better than horizon (cause of not openworld blabla), we will see that when the demo comes out in a week most likely. downside: not really simulation
most likely i will end up buying both IF pcars2 finally has better mp options. since i havent baked it im a bit sceptical if its worth it or not (i dont care about rally cross for example; but pcars2 now finally has a much better car pool including lambos etc). but so most likely pcars2 only later, this months gaming budget is already maxed out with one racing game (as i said most likely this first) and fifa or pes. otherwise i would have to sacrifice a few percentage of my ether stock

I don't know if the driving model has been significantly improved/altered in this new version, but it will be anything like Forza 6's floaty simulauto-steering mode, it's a no brainer for me*, dem Cars 2 all the way
*...unless the Bell men has had the brilliant idea of turning Cars from simcade to arcadesim, whilst sneakily removing some of the nice features that we've seen in the recent builds, which wouldn't surprise me
Good thing we'll have a demo here - and the unofficial full one for the competitor if we're lucky
It would look like a PCars2 year for racing games, indeed.
Forza looks really the same, with is semi-cheesy engine, which frankly stopped to awe some year ago: maybe a buy on a low price.
GT Sport decided to flush thyself the moment it canceled single player campaign (really wise move, btw): I even bought a PS4 almost for it (really wise move, btw).
IF PCars2 is the semi-sim that many agree to, it could be its edge this time.
Sounds like the game is big on the XBox console too, 45 GB on disc then a 50 GB update for the rest of the data and then a optional "4k" update for the XBox One X.
Though I suppose on PC via UWP it's a straight ~100 GB download.

The Demo for FM7 will release on the 19th too, for both Windows 10 PC and Xbox One.
