At E3 2014, we announced the return of the Crackdown franchise with the unveil of our newest title – Crackdown 3 – and established an exciting and ambitious vision to redefine open-world gaming. Then at gamescom 2015, we showed that creating completely physical and destructible multiplayer environments is possible through the power of Microsoft Cloud and Xbox Live. Today, we are excited to confirm that Crackdown 3 will be available for both Xbox One and Windows 10 PCs, and will be an Xbox Play Anywhere title so you can buy one and play across either device.
Crackdown 3 is a game built for the future with a multiplayer experience that will redefine what it feels like to play games, and as we continue to work on this, it has become clear that our original timeline of delivering multiplayer to fans this summer, while maintaining the size, scope and quality of the game, would be challenging. Our top priority is to give gamers an experience they have never seen before at a scale never thought possible, and sticking to our original timeline would have compromised that goal.
We know that many are looking forward to becoming Agents in Crackdown 3 and we are committed to delivering the best experience in 2017. This decision was made with our fans and their gaming experience in mind.
While we won’t be at E3, we cannot wait to show you the future of Crackdown 3 soon.
I found first Crackdown super boring. The thirds gimmick seems to be destruction but the rest is still same old boring stuff.

Just awful, never liked these, tried to since like the idea and the setting, but what it comes down to is a mix of the worst super hero games mixed with a really bad GTA clone.
With some talent it could really work and be something really cool, but i don't see it in Crackdown 3 either.

A game like this is just incredibly ambitious. The campaign world is twice the size of the city in the original Crackdown, and not only in terms of footprint – the tallest building is also twice as tall as the tallest building in the original game. So it’s a super ambitious game for the campaign and then an incredibly ambitious game for the competitive multiplayer mode. This is a franchise that deserved to come back right and we wanted to take our time to do it right.
Crackdown has always been a game about a verticality, a bit of a vertical platformer, and it’s still very much about that. We’ve added some stuff like the double jump and the airburst, so now players can combine those moves and make this long, crazy jumps that not even we are anticipating. Players can also use that in combat: you could be in the middle of a big jump and if somebody fires a rocket at you, you can airburst to dodge it. It gives the player way more choice and in the moment to moment makes the jumping a lot more fun.
"We’re very excited about Crackdown 3, and so are many fans, and so it's a difficult call to move the release date," Loftis told the site. "However, we want to make sure to deliver the right game, with the right quality, and at the right time. Crackdown 3 is a hugely ambitious game and we want to ensure we deliver the right experiences all the way through every part of the game, whether that's campaign, co-op multiplayer or our competitive multiplayer mode, Wrecking Zone. Getting the balance right between the three modes is important, and we are going to take the extra development time to ensure that. Gamers can expect Crackdown 3 in Spring of 2018."
The way I see it, every life is a pile of good things and bad things. The good things don’t always soften the bad things, but vice versa, the bad things don’t always spoil the good things and make them unimportant.
Gamescom 2017: Crackdown 3 Was Announced Too Early, Says Microsoft Exec A mistake Microsoft intends to learn from

The reveal of Crackdown 3 at E3 2014 may not have been a bit premature, according to Microsoft Studios Publishing general manager Shannon Loftis.
Speaking to Polygon at Gamescom 2017, Loftis admitted the company "probably announced Crackdown too early," noting the game features three different modes, is being developed by three different studios, and was delayed to spring 2018 so the teams could up the game's overall quality.
"We definitely underestimated the challenge of making sure the quality bar of all three of those modes was high and it delivers on what we need to deliver on," Loftis explained, noting it "was a super hard decision" that was made all the more difficult in light of the fact that Crackdown 3 had already been announced several years prior.
She acknowledged that Microsoft has previously "made the mistake of announcing some exclusives a little bit too early," which is something they're "trying to learn from," and as such are remaining tight-lipped on other projects they currently have in development.
"We're in this for the long haul, and we wanna make sure that not just in the spring of 2018, but in the summer, and in the fall, and the spring of 2019 that we'll have great, unique, fun experiences for Xbox gamers," she added.
It looks like an open world mobile game from the iPad 1 era..
with the time, money and experience put into this game it should look like the best sci-fi open world ever created, and then some.. even a "indie" game like ELEX looks better and is way more ambitious.
