Assassin's Creed Origins leak reveals ridable camels

Quote:
The latest in a string of Assassin's Creed Origins leaks has revealed perhaps our biggest cache of information on the unannounced game yet, including the fact you'll be able to ride camels.

Yay, Assassin's Creed has drones now! It was the one "iconic" mechanic that was missing.

And to think that for a moment I even thought 'maybe, maybe after taking a hiatus they could come up with something a bit different this time around', how silly of me.

That E3 footage was just jarring. Next gen markers everywhere, drone eaglecopter, invasive UI and x-ray visions, completely blindeaf AI, approximative animations, cinematic slow-mos a-la Mordor, for Osiris' sake Ubi.

Wadafak!? The E3 gameplay walkthrough looks and plays worse than an iPhone 2 game. And even if this video is Very Early Pre-Alpha I doubt the game will improved enough to be any good. I don't think there will be more than 2 more games until Assassin's Creed is totally dead. RiP another good franchise. Sad

I don't think it was that bad. I'm sure because it was a presentation some things were on purpose lame - like the blind as fuck AI or the stupid homing arrows - but overall it did have a fresh look. Dunno, maybe it's too early to judge.

Sounds like Far Cry + AssCreed + Witcher 3 + a tiny bit of Soul's combat. I don't mind any of these except the leveled and randomized loot. I think Souls with leveling but no leveled yet upgrade-able loot is a better approach than enemies having levels, and you need to keep yourself and gear up to level to do enough damage. The gear with stats is not necessary bad, Nioh combined that with Soul's combat quite well. But that game is also designed for replaying missions over and over again. AssCreed's structure don't seem right for that.

What I would have liked is loot being fixed level but can be upgrade like Souls, in addition you can craft special bonuses like "health on kill" into it. But having to do inventory management because I keep picking up randomly generated trash loot is not exactly fun. If I find a legendary weapon, why would I care about blue drops anymore when I can just upgrade my legendary's level? What dismantle for mats or sell? That's meaningless loot management in a game that is not Diablo.

seconds before the gameplay it look very good, think it was some pre rendered cinematic scenes, but then the gameplay starts and i was shocked at how bad it looked, mediocre at best, just looks the same and what caught my attention was the stupid UI again, and the main character seems like its another black guy from that black flags dlc who was very boring.

i thought this was gonna be totaly fresh from all the leaked shit, still gonna yaar it but expectations are very low now.

They have to be carefull, remember the Witcher 3 about better e3 graphics opposed to the final product or did all of you forget about that, they must lower it so everyone will be happy with it when it gets released. Wink

i meant that i was expecting more like witcher 3 compared to witcher 2, or bf1 to bf4, ac2 to ac1, far cry 3 to far cry 2, batman ak to 2 or 2 to 1, gta 5 to gta 4 etc. not only graphics but gameplay changes. what i saw was just another black flags, unity or sindicate. far cry 4 or primal, every cod game in the past years etc. with all the criticism they got and with having more time i thought it was going to be a more leap forwards and forget some of the idiot mechanics like that stupid eagle drone and all of the hud pointers.

What were the big gameplay changes between far cry 3 and far cry 2 aside of the downgraded physics?

Once again a good setting, a solid visual design and great animations go to waste on what looks like a generic Ubisoft game. Wasn't there a talk about AC going back to its "stealth" game roots? What happened with that?

were many big changes which have been said many times already, but thats why every far cry game tries to be like 3 and not 2.

Every Far Cry game tries to be like Far Cry 3 in terms of storytelling/villain. The gameplay is pretty much the same Ubisoft formula since AC1 with a bit of FC2 and slight improvements.

Watched some of that afterwards gameplay from the Ubilol conference yesterday.

Man, looks and plays pretty much like Far Cry in third person now.

Also using the eagle is so badly implemented. For example if you don't move him, he hovers exactly in place, without the camera moving a tiny bit to make it look somewhat realistic.
Now it looks like some modern drone with the model of an animal. Laughing

I thought a bit about what these new games do wrong while playing Breath of the Wild, which felt fresh and exciting and always left me with the feeling of mystery and wonder of what might be hidden behind the next hill or in the next ravine...

and I'm pretty sure it's just that all these new games push their systems so in your face. Hundrets of markers on your map, progress bars with their rewards already visible to show you what you are working for... Breath of the Wild would be just like Assassins Creed with towers to climb that reveal parts of the map and loot chests to open, but they did not give you a single map marker, and no visible progress bars, and it felt fresh and exciting.

If you think about the much loved Gothic 1&2 games, the world felt in part so real and alive because you just didn't have a easy map with map markers. For the first third of the game or so you had to ask around for the guy you were looking for, then you kinda remembered where the different factions were, and finally for quite a hefty sum you could buy a map which you still had to open manually and still didn't show any quest markers.

Whelp, I still enjoy every Assassins Creed for it's world building and it's very nice city-feeling simulation of differend epochs, I'll play through this one as well.

tbh, some birds can hover - so it's not so unrealistic. It's a lot of fuss about nothing really. You don't have to use the bird if you don't want to.

I wouldn't bet on that - unless they explicitly stated otherwise, sorry if that's the case.
