This guy is making almost as much from patreon as ACG, who has well written and pretty high quality reviews.
Still surprised people give that guy a platform on here. I've posted up the controversial scores on the games and reviews at one point and you could clearly see 90% of the time it's just a showreel from the game.

Yeah last time we had a WAB discussion I did some research on his scores, needless to say I wasn't surprised

Just thought I'd mention, that the social risk analysis company I work for, has recently being doing a shed load of YT channels. They're not identified to me, but I recognise a lot of them from the posts I moderate, and I can tell you the moderation guidelines are VERY strict. I don't know yet, if it's YT or the actual channel owners who are the ultimate client, but given the varied number of channels (not just gaming), I suspect it's YT themselves. (we're not cheap to hire).
So I suspect the whole 'family friendly' issue is being outsourced to... well, me

Always liked Mack. He's quick to bash the shit out of "developers" (I use that term very loosely) that fail to offer the most basic of PC features on PC games - things like being able to bind your fucking keys to whatever you'd like, and having them actually work (imagine that?!?!!). I'm looking at you Friday the 13th....
Other reviewers simply gloss over major stuff like that, if they even mention them at all. He's always PC first, as it should be.
At it's core it's technically begging, sure. But it's a far better sort of begging than, for example, the shameless fucking joke that is "Early Access" and Kickstarter/Fig "stretch goals".

Yes, because that's all this discussion is about. It has nothing to do with a guy that complains a lot without providing any actual arguments, it's about us not being able to understand his fresh and candid perspective!!
I'll always go back to the most bullshit video of them all when this master of First Person Shooters complained for 13-14 minutes (out of a 16 minutes video) about the Terrorist Hunt (PVE mode) in an online (PvP) game and couldn't recognize a standard SVU sniper rifle (compared it to a shotgun ). Entertainment at the highest level!

100%, hah! But I guess complaining that you can't stop a melee weapon swing or that the graphics aren't colorful enough (in a near desert area) is what goes by good criticism nowadays.
All I said was I occasionally enjoy this guys vids regardless of if he is "right" or "wrong" or shares my own opinion. I've noticed this crying or rage quiting the forum over a differing of opinion is a bit of a thing here at the hump... U really don't have to take other people's thoughts so harshly/personally guys.

Sure, some of them do a better job than others but what happened with pewds/wsj making all the advertisers pull out (at least from the previous monetization model) was just a shitshow.
Hopefully most of them will be able to survive on patreon or move to twitch or something like that and in the end it will be youtube which will get fucked over.

I prefer to do a job where i can create something that actually lasts a while and contributes to a companies success.
