World of Warcraft Gold Can Be Used to Buy Destiny 2 Time to get grinding
Quote:
Activision has announced that Destiny 2 will be available on PC exclusively from the Blizzard Launcher, which likely means you'll be able to buy it using World of Warcraft Tokens.
Back in February, the rules were changed on WoW Tokens, which could only previously be redeemed using in-game gold for extra subscription time. Now they can be used in exchange for Blizzard Launcher (formerly the Battle.net app) credit.
According to Kotaku, the price of WoW Tokens has spiked since the reveal of Destiny 2 and the announcement that it would be available through Blizzard's store on PC. Currently, people are using any in-game gold they don't need to buy things like Hearthstone card packs and Overwatch loot boxes.
The Tokens reached as expensive as 140,000 gold on the in-game Auction House at one point, before falling back down to around 120,000 gold. To buy with real money, the Tokens cost $20.
Bigwigs and Littlewigs if I remember correctly not sure how they are these days.
DBM is highly configurable so look deeper into it if there's just a few things that annoy you.

available in lfr too yay
Yeah but as always it will be heavily time gated in LFR so expect the full Raid 2 Months after it is released.
Honestly just do it in normal mode, there is no point in LFR, normal isn't much harder, can be pugged and drops better loot.
Btw funny they time new Raids exactly with xpack releases from other games, first 2 years ago with Heavenward and Hellfire Citadel, now Stormblood and this.
Not playing WoW atm, but I am sure I'll be revisiting Azeroth in the near future. And my fun ticket will be payed with... guess what?! REAL MONEY!
Can't afford anymore to waste time grinding gold; especially now, that the token price has reached that insane value... Also my mind refuses to accept the idea of being forced to play just to be able to afford to... play. In my personal opinion, Blizzard has struck gold again. The players' mind is no longer addicted to epics anymore, but to a sort of progression that is - more than ever - VERY motivating - and rewards them with even HIGHER VALUED gifts than before: game time and other games!
_____
If I may add a highly subjective thought: there's something kinda perverse behind this strategy. And if you ask why, well... got my 2 euro-cents right here...
... because there seems to be no bonus incense to pay with real money. Unlike other MMOs, Blizzard does NOT offer a reward or at least a special status for those who pay with their RL wallet. APARENTLY, there is no difference between you (the RL money spender) and the 16 years old that somehow managed to grind it's token price in a month. Therefore, you are kinda pushed in a very, very subtle way towards the option to pay with game gold.
A bit more on this:
Once you get to pay your gametime with gold, there's a brief moment of ecstasy that you somehow 'tricked' the system and did NOT lose / pay any money. This brief moment is something that you get addicted to, hehe... Why? Because this is how the brain works! Because one might think that he gained something without paying with money or without 'actually working' (<-this is another debate) - which - psychologically - like any similar situation - triggers an immense personal (ego-centered) satisfaction.
The problem is that the Time that you spend grinding that gold is worth A LOT more that the damn 15 USD.

Anyway, despite 'all this' (well, not THAT much big of a deal, really, hehe), I can't deny that Blizzard offers very high quality products and I have no problem paying with real money for that which interests me. Lately I have NOT been interested in Overwatch, SC2 Nova missions, WoW gametime and I predict that I won't be interested in Destiny 2 also.
@blackeyedboy
I guess being able to pay for a sub while grinding ingame is good for those people without a job / too much free time.
But i don't have the time nor the desire to do that shit nowadays. So i will pay with money too.
Hell, i even bought lootcrates for Overwatch a few times, just to get some drops faster.
Something i would never have done way back then.

By the time I quit WoW - for the 'tenth time' - some months ago - think it was around the 190.000 Gold per Token mark - I had the possibility to buy Overwatch + game time and still have some resources, but the feeling of being 'spent' over doing the same shit over and over again hit me so hard that all I could do was quit + uninstall and desperately look for a breath of something new in some other games.
The problem with the Token price (rising) is that it doesn't only dictates an alternate solution, it also reflects the state of the game and the relation that you develop with it and it's developers.
It's like... Blizzard is saying:
Look man, to play our game you need only to pay 15 USD per month. Alternatively, if you are not happy with the price, we offer you the possibility to pay with in-game GOLD! To acquire the necessary digital coin, one only needs a full month of grinding while playing a casual experience...
More so... the fact that the Token price is rising, it indicates that there is a huge DEMAND. Meaning, further more, that an increasing amount players are using it for game time (other services included + get real money in the store). And since I feel that I can't take part of this 'trend' - joining the players that have the time to grind or have the time to play the AH for GOLD or have the time to study the economy and profit - I started to feel a bit... alienated, a bit excluded.
So, in conclusion, at some point, I was like: Wait a minute, you old vanilla paladin, I don't have time anymore to focus on making money in WoW, I already do this is real life... What the fuck am i doing here?!
I see you guys mentioning grind? Playing the AH isn't grinding you know? Esp with addons that, properly configured, do 90% of the work for you. I cba doing it anymore but it was easy af and still is to make a token if not several a month just by clicking a few buttons every day at the ah for like 5-10mins.
Main PC : I7 12700, MSI Ventus RTX 4090 24gb, Alienware AW3423DW QD-OLED
Laptop : I5 4200H @ 3400mhz boost, GTX 850m 2gb Vram DDR3, 4gb RAM DDR3
Derpsole : Playstation 5 disc edition, Ninty Switcherino
TV+audio: LG CX 65" / Sonos ARC + SL ones + Sonos sub 3
VR Headset: Meta quest 2 airlinked
EU token prices are at 232 000 g atm i don't think it's possible to make that on most servers atm with just playing the AH for the majority of people (and if more people do it, it becomes even harder).
Yea, Azeroth is not the same anymore. You can now one-shot anything, everything new is still 'old', there is no wonder, no new discovery, no danger, no surprises, no socializing with other adventurers that need help to complete a difficult / group quest or kill some elite(s).
Yep, i miss the old Azreoth too.
Still keep remembering the good times of questing in the low level zones, or the ganking as a rogue in Blackrock Mountain.
