£75 for the game and controller! And no its not some piece of plastic you need the move controllers for
The game’s environments are wonderfully rendered though for the 3D effect in VR. It successfully emulates the feeling of walking through ruins, canyons, or across bridges and along cliff edges – without physically having to move your feet. There’s nothing quite like holding up a weapon and looking down its optics or holding the weapon up to shoot over cover as if it were really in your hands… and it is. Or looking down a cliff edge or hole in the floor while crossing a high passing. These feelings and how well it all functions in Farpoint – and how smooth it flows while moving – cannot be understated. There’s no VR game like this.
The physical piece of plastic isn't impressive or anything, but it's more like it's just right. It's exactly what it needs to be, no problems there.
Graphics are fine/nice (for PSVR), animations are good, art is good, etc.
Story is slim, but who cares, we want to shoot shit with a sweet VR gun.
The in-game gun shooting is perfect. The gun feels incredibly natural and is a blast to shoot.
Looks great and feels great.
The walking around is a little weird, you basically point your gun in a direction and then pushing forward on the joystick makes you walk whichever direction your gun is pointing.
As you're standing/sitting facing one way, when you want to walk right or left, it gets a little weird, luckily most of the time you're basically moving forward in the comfortable range. It's like a mix of open/on rails.
The initial enemies are like little spider things that jump at you, and boy let me say, in VR to have a horrible fuckn creature leap at your face like that, it is a terrible thing. And I mean that in the best way, it was goddamn awesome how scared I was to let that thing touch me. I like flinched and ducked my head because it scared the shit out of me.
I couldn't get very far, as I haven't played VR in quite some time, so I started to get motion sickness very quickly, and I know enough to know when that starts you quit immediately.
For what it is, a VR gun shooting experience: AWESOME. Although I will say it did take longer than I would have thought to get to shooting enemies. Although you do get to walk around for a bit just messing around, had fun just shooting around.
For what it isn't, a serious story and other deeper elements: WHO CARES!
Have no comment on length of the game, as I only made it like 20-30 minutes in, but we'll see.
Excited to get back in there when I'm feeling better!

rebuying VR when motion sickness has been worked on...
Offtopic: tried VR last weekend at my friend's house, felt a bit of motion sickness after 15 mins or so... this is normal at the beginning? Will you get used to it? I am thinking to buy the VR set sometime in the future, but I don not wan t to be sick all the time lol.
Yes you will get used to it, and I didn't use PSVR that much...
Nowadays I barely get sick, mostly just sweating but that's also because your head is heating in such a headset after a while.
Problem is, whenever you get used to motion sickness, it means that you are used to VR too.
Thus rendering the VR effect less impressive, and these days I gotta admit that I'm not that amazed by PSVR because I don't feel the 3D effect that much anymore but at least I don't get sick.
That's also why I was a bit disappointed with Farpoint : somehow I'm not more immersed than your standard game, even with the gun. I think the gun is a gimmick compared to a PS Move, you get great sensations with dual move in Until Dawn or London Heist honestly...
Not sure why they made such a fuzz about this accessory.
It's good, but not any better than PS Move. They probably did it just so you can move with a joystick, that's all...
One nice touch though is that you can use the in game visor to aim, kinda like a real gun, but that's about it.
Game is bad for a non PSVR game, but it's great for a VR game. As in, it's your standard FPS, nothing special about it. If you want a great FPS, you play Doom 2016, it's tons better.
These spiders though jumping at me, I'm still scared whenever they are on my visor
