I use Chrome almost exclusively.
I tend to test out new versions of other browsers every now and then, but I haven't found a decent alternative to Chrome these past few years.
I used Firefox quite a bit in the past, but it started acting up at some point. Don't really remember how - and I'm sure it's been fixed by now.
But Chrome works fine - and I like the easy integration of Gmail and what not.
Edge did seem somewhat snappier, but other than that - it seemed like total crap, like most of Microsoft's attempts at being modern.

Chrome has great dev tools. Firefox's are unusable without Firebug... which isn't as good as the chrome dev tools either...

Safari on Mac, Firefox & Edge on Windows. I have been mostly Chrome-less for a few days now. What convinced me was opening a large Travis CI log and Chrome getting stuck while fucking Edge opening it instantly. (@Interinactive What version are you running? I am on latest Insider build.) Edge is an interesting beast; it's really fast and smooth, but its UX is retarded. I like the overall look of it, but the WinRT internals are just ridiculous. So Firefox+Stylish it is. Firefox has come a long way since I last gave it a serious try.

dont know if you read teh news about stylish and its data collecting..
I searched for an alternative and found this here, way better on the cpu cycles and more..

StylRRR - Barebones Userstyle Injector
About this Add-on
this is a very basic (barebones) userstyle injector. nothing more nothing less!
IF you want features and really get into userstyles n stuuf go with the original addon "stylish" addon!
this addon is for the nerdy user wanting to save a little bit of ram and cpu-cycles.
This addon is enough to load your userstyles , once you´ve set your userstyles you can normally leave them alone forever and just have anice browsing experience.

Seems like this is a Stylish on Chrome issue? I don't think the Firefox version is affected.
That Stylrrr looks retarded from UX standpoint. But thanks.

A reminder to everyone that in November 2017, once Firefox 57 is released, all non-WebExtension addons (anything interesting, basically) will stop being supported. So don't get attached too much to those addons.

Wrong. Very wrong. Opera uses the same engine that Chrome uses. It's not based on Chrome. They are based on Blink. If you don't like Opera, why not try vivaldi? |
Vivaldi is pretty great. I wouldn't use Opera since China bought them out..

I prefer IE 5.5 because some sites don't work with Opera

you guys joke but opera (44) has been pretty great. I'm not really worried about china, they seem to mind their own business, unlike a certain country...

I use opera 12, the old one, has things that were dropped in newer versions that I liked, so I stayed with it, everything still works on it so no problem.
there are no compatibility problems, because you can dupe sites and show it as ie or any other browser, I don't think they have that in newer versions.

Firefox.
I've tried switching to Chrome multiple times in the past, with my latest attempt about a year ago, but there are two add-ons I cannot live without (Firegestures and NoScript) that have no feasible alternatives on Chrome.
The stuff that's on Chrome that is supposed to serve as a replacement for those is lacking in comparison (with the mouse gesture add-ons going as far as embedding tracking/bloatware).
TLDR - Chrome add-on availability and security are sorely lacking when compared with the mighty Fox.
I can never be free, because the shackles I wear can't be touched or be seen.

Quote: | Opera may be the underdog of the browser world, but it continues to fight hard, adding interesting new features to try and win over users. The latest addition is a messaging sidebar built directly into the browser interface. From the sidebar, users can log into their WhatsApp, Facebook Messenger, and Telegram accounts, and chat with friends and family without ever leaving Opera itself. |
I kinda like it...
