Did they seriously give the game to reviewers and streamers a week a head of normal people again?
It's called advertising and marketing...
U don't understand my point? People that want to buy it would buy it right away. People with doubts would see some stream and hear other people say its good and buy it.
No need to wait a week its' bullshit. People will forget a weak game like this fast.
i understand your point, but your point is incorrect.
the game isnt being held back a week, its being released EARLY to certain places to help drum up more attention and preorders. giving it to reviewers and youtubers helps the game gain greater attention and notice from people who otherwise might not have heard about it until later in the games life. The people who preordered and are eagerly looking forward to a day 1 purchase KNOW when the release date is and their interest is unlikely to go away... but all the promotion could easily bring in many new customers. not sure why the most basic form of marketing seems alien - or worse - 'unfair' to you.
It might be different for the majority of people but personally I'm much less inclined to buy a game if I have already consumed it by watching streams.
Of course playing myself would be more satisfying but that's not possible until it officially releases, so watching some streamer play is the only thing one can do right now.
= not sure why the most basic form of marketing seems alien - or worse - 'unfair' to you.
Funny how u try to be insulting with this sentence. You simply don't get my point.
The game is already falling hard on viewers. Now down to 1400 viewers way way down the line in twitch. In a week noone will even talk about this game. They should have released today when it was in the top 10.
not sure why this bad marketing seems good to you lmao.
Barely anyone knew this game launched today. Barely anyone talks about this game. They didnt even shill places like 4chan with it. Now waiting a week so it can die down fast and people can forget it.
im neither saying its good nor bad, but im just trying to explain to you the purpose of letting youtubers and reviewers get products early, and its place in marketing and promotion - which from your posts, you still seem like you dont understand why it happens... whether it fails or not is down to the quality of the game, and is wholly a separate issue to the reason early releases for promotion occurs.
the publisher thinks its a good move, so thats why it happens. If they rest of the marketing strategy is poor, again, thats down to the ineptitude of the marketing teams strategy. I cant help it if you still cant fathom WHY early releases for promotion of a product is a viable marketing strategy that happens all the time... and is often quite successful if the product and the team marketing it, are of quality.
I watched for quite some time CohhCarnage's stream, he got pretty far in the game, and it actually looked pretty good.
The character progression with all these implants and stuff, cutting off enemies weapons, the combat, all these aspects of the game are nicely done. And although the setting is kinda boring, the level design is good.Lots of shortcuts you can open.
I won't buy it at full price for sure, but I will most definitely play isodemo and maybe even get it later when it gets on sale.
However, I'm pretty disappointed that the game seems to be mostly melee oriented. Drones do shitty damage.. I saw some enemies using flamethrowers and gas grenade launchers..maybe we can cut them off and use them, I dunno.
The same-y-ish design might end up being a problem, and I'm not a fan of the press-a-button finishing moves, but I'm liking all the rest, especially the mechanical dismembering. My body is ready for this Scrap Souls
We still use APEX (as well as PhysX) as physics middleware, but this time no more APEX turbulence (the CUDA-only particle system which is PC-/NV-only). APEX cloth and destruction are CPU based simulations and therefore cross-platform compatible. Since LotF we developed our own GPU particle system which is 100% cross-platform.

And some info from the guys who finished it:

Is it true there's only a handful of bosses and low enemy variety?
Yes.

I've had the game since last thursday, but couldnt start till saturday, but i lent it to a friend they beat it in 15 hours~
Cohh just finished in 20, but he got lost so fucking much.

I wasnt referring to length just the variety of the content, i couldnt care less if a games 10/20/30 hours and long as its good. The surge is very limited in terms of variety, the overwhelming majority of enemies can be seen in the games combat trailer.
