Semi-cheap luxury electric ride with motors that in the core of it are more efficient for acceleration than internal combustion engine. Tesla will become slower the faster it goes, if you catch the idea.
So no, it's not the point
If I had enough resources I'd buy Model S and Demon both. MS for Sunday shopping and Demon for fun. I just can't see a soul in an electric car. But that's my quirk I guess
I have much respect for Tesla and what they are doing with bringing true electric vehicles to the masses but you just missed the point of the Demon article
A rare BMW once owned by the king of rock and roll Elvis Presley has been found and restored. The 1957 BMW 507 was fully disassembled, revamped, repainted and put back together to restore its former glory at BMW in Germany. Presley originally purchased the car while stationed in Germany with the US Army in 1958. The car was previously used for racing before Presley bought it and was a hot commodity of the time.
When Presley purchased the car the paint was white, but rumor says so many fans wrote notes to the king of rock in lipstick he eventually painted it red. Once he headed back to the states in 1960, Elvis brought the car along with him. He soon traded it in to a dealer who re-sold it for $4,500.
Only 254 makes of the model were created of the 507 making them incredibly rare.
They sell for as much as $2.5 million today in perfect condition.
Presley's model was modified with a Chevrolet V8 engine and new gearbox and rear axle.
After changing owners over the years it eventually came to Jack Castor, a car collector who stored the vehicle in a 'pumpkin warehouse' in Alabama.
In 2006, the car was confirmed as the same one owned by Presley and BMW purchased the car from Castor.
Two years ago the car was shipped to Germany, and fully restored with a mix of new and old parts.
The finished look saw the car painted in its original coat of white.
Although the car is not for sale, it will make a public debut at the Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance on August 21.
Details aside (they removed the rearseat and GPS unit, added rollcage), it's impressive how fast the modern hot hatches are, I feel that it's almost too much for normal drivers in street use... Although they are also very user friendly, unlike high powered rear wheel drive cars, it still accelerates faster than the average brain can process
42 minutes about an ibiza car... I don't know if I'd watch that much about any car and he copied the intro from engineering explained (which is pretty good by the way)
but it should be relatively fun to drive that, see pax you're missing out because you can't even enter such vehicle
edit: it is very nice however to have someone doing such in-depth reviews for relatively cheap cars... cars for rich people get too much attention IMO
lol cheap, 20-25k eur.. in top trim
wish I had your income
I'm currently gravitating around 2018 Polo GTI and Mazda MX-5 RF
maybe next year.. but if the Polo is only available as a 4 door version, that's a big minus

well I said relatively cheap (because we often post videos about supercars which I will never ever have so compared to them it's cheap)...
I'm also considering the Mazda MX-5 I don't care so much about convertibles but it just seems like such a great car to drive, and the 1.5 has sensible fuel economy too, not to mention the great reliabilty. I really like the "drive a slow car fast" concept and I think the 1.5 MX-5 is perfect for that. Reason says I should buy the new 1.0 civic, or a diesel mazda 3, but I'd really like the MX-5. Just not sure about the roof, the cloth top seems to have 2cm extra headroom which for me makes a difference since I'm cramped in it already, the RF I didn't try yet so if it is indeed smaller I might not fit
But having a cloth top convertible does worry me because it's so easy for someone to rip it, and I think the insulation is terrible too...
i'm in love with the RF visual look, but I must accept bad rear and rear-side visibility.. also more turbulence at high speed, but less noise with the roof up
well reducing body roll is very easy, making a car more comfortable isn't... so I think they did the right thing, for most people the suspension works as it should and if you're not happy it's a simple fix. Besides, more roll also means more mechanical grip, especially in ondulated/not perfect roads, and/or wet/snowy conditions... it also gives the driver a higher sense of speed (drive a slow car fast thing, which IMO is a good thing, preventing many speed tickets ).
The RF does look awesome the only things that bother me are the price and headroom...
I commute to work daily mainly in the city and 80KM/h roads, about 35KM. We also do 2-3 road trips a year, so heavy highway usage at those rare occassions. Would it be stupid to choose a V6 in this case for my next car? I love the power and sound of a V6, but I wonder how a V6 will cope with my driving needs. How will a petrol V6 cope with lots of city driving? I know fuel efficiency will be hit, but I'm also worrying about maintenance cost. I don't need speed btw, but a V6 runs so smooth and sounds so good
I'm going to spend a lot of money for my next car, just wondering whether I should go full retard or not while I'm still young.
also naturally aspirated petrol V6 isn't very heavy on maintenance..
it will even have the power to move at those speeds on very low rpm at the highest gear
if you get a supercharged it won't be much worse
but if you get a turbocharged, especially with a variable geometry turbine, you will clog the turbo with such low cruising all the time..
