@SpykeZ Cheers SpykeZ, got a cheap one too and so far I am liking it, mostly because of some slight resemblance to DH2.

Really isn't shitty side quests for the ones that do exist, not like fallout go kill 10 bugs. Stuff a little more like dying light that adds to the story. Doesn't appear you need to do them though.

Speaking of sidequests, can I leave them all for later? If so, does the main story warn you when its about to end and give you the chance to finish up on sidequests?

No it doesnt inform you, since you could basically still domost of the quests at the end. But i advise you todo allthat stuff before you meet Alex Yu Outside his Office in the Abertorium, at this point youre not be able to go outside the Talos anymore and you encounter much more enemys.

Also how can people finish it after 20-25h already?

I'm not playing that slow, but like i wrote earlier: After ~20h i'm still in act 1 and just finished the Crew Quarters main mission.

20h isn't that bad for a shooter even if this is a bit more open in how you can approach the various rooms and of course all the hidden loot plus extras such as message logs, mails or discovering the various side quests.

I'm taking it pretty slow too but in addition to trying to discover and see as much of the game as possible I'm also being cautious since I heard there's a chance for mission important items to clip through the ground making them hard to retrieve and some items are placed the first time you enter a new area such as the chips or what to call them.

Also recycling most anything I come across by piling up items into small hoards before throwing that recycle grenade, probably not going to ever need all the resulting materials but eh, game allows for it so might as well take advantage of it. Very Happy
(All the shotgun shells! )

EDIT: Gloo (GLOO?) gunning out-of-bounds and beating the game in ~20-ish minutes though, that must have surprised Arkane a bit that people managed to speed run it like that.
(Something for a later update to try and plug perhaps but it's not really a huge priority over actual game bugs or adding features such as a easier FOV slider implementation.)

Yesterday i tried out that ressource duplication trick. Well, i doubled my ~50-60 per ressource grinhurt
Will never need that much ressources anyways.
Build as many Neuromods as possible (then that sidemission starts).

Using the terrain and the Gloo gun is awesome in fights.
Though i'm not sure if its good or exploiting, if you can easily kill most enemies that way and they can't reach you.
At least in the more open maps.

I'm not playing that slow, but like i wrote earlier: After ~20h i'm still in act 1 and just finished the Crew Quarters main mission.

I was playing very slow but also very efficient. Finished after 20 hours.
I went for full human playthrough with no alien powers. Was exploring every area and did all missions and listened to all audio logs.
The game have only like few areas but once You know them, its very quick to move around.

At the end I had over 30 medkits, shitton of ammunition and in the last part of the game it felt like crysis2. Just running across the maps, not killing anyone.
I did not even used q beam more than 2-3 times.

Again - its 20hours and I don't think there is anything I've not seen maybe aside from like 10% of side missions.

The game is just very occupying and sens brain into very efficient workload state for me. i just play, recycle, play, recycle, run around for side quests and recycle Laughing
edit: I was playing on normal. Gathering everything and not grinding. Still don't see how anyone can have not enough ammunition. I had all weapons fully upgraded and over 100 shots for shothung and 300 for pistol Crying or Very sad

also a big spoiler for middle game:

So far i have around 30 medkits too. There is just too much food everywhere, or those medibots.

KillerCrocker wrote:

So far i used it probably the same amount. Only needed them for those Telepaths / Weavers which i couldn't lure into friendly turrets, or some narrow hallways so they couldn't fly around.

If you use everything you got to create neuromods then you won't be able to create ammunition.

I always have problems with minerals.

And in my playthrough ammunition is kinda scarce. I very rarely use shotgun and piston and I still don't have that many bullets .

So, Prey is a GOTY contender?

(have not played yet, I am considering buying it - (!) after I will partially clear by backlog -> this may happen in 2018, though) Very Happy

Yeah, it's most likely going to be my GOTY.

Just finished it at 30 hours. 8.5/10.

I didn't mean that. But... let's just leave it like this. Smile

When it comes to personal standards and subjective rating(s)... any discussion will probably lead nowhere. Especially here... Wink

Erm... no one can call a game rated 8 - by modern standards - average.
