slak: I have a different opinion, I think stargate was great from season 1 to 5, then came down with season 6, and then from season 7 until now, it has been much better that the earlier seasons, I think stargate is at is best now.

I agree. And I think that Ben Browder is the main reason for that.

I have to agree with almost everything that Fisk said about the characters except for the comments about Ben being better than RDA. If anything Ben underlines his point about the characters being two dimensional paper cut-outs. I mean where could you find a more stereotypical example of a goody two shoes than Ben. There is no interaction between the characters (except for the fling between Jack and Carter), no depth no nothing. They appear every time, do their job of saving the galaxy and curtain. I hate myself for saying this but even Star Trek with Kirk in it had more interaction between the characters. Sad
The thing I liked about Jack's character was that he lacked the nauseating boy/girl scout goodiness of the others.

My approval of Ben Browder is mostly because of his impeccable work in Farscape.

Ok, I've just picked up the 1st season of stargate atlantis...

should I be familiar w/ SG-1 before watching this series? I've seen the theater release of stargate, but haven't seen the tv show before.

Thanks!

I think it's time someone killed Baltar now, too bad no one knows about him.

The president's visions/dreams seemed interesting though.

this was an awesome episode, one of the best this season, last 3 episodes were boring. but this one just owned.

they've lost prometheus, do you think they'll build another one? or just use the daedalus for SG-1 and Atlantis?

I can not belive they took out the prometheus. I'm not sure if theyll build anotherone but they may build something more better if they can get the funding.

One quick question. Where are the asguard hanging out these days? I havent watched season 8 yet so i suppose the answer is there?

they are rebuilding the Asgard civilization in another planet, the whole replicator war almost destroyed them.

I think the Daedalus will be the new ship for SG-1 since the Atlantis team have discovered that Ancient warship.

What ship did they discover? The one on the planet that looked just like atlantis itself?

Concerning the daedalus being used by SG-1 i dont think thatll happen. Earth needs at least 1 ship around to defend itself, it cant do that if daedalus is going back and forth from earth to atlantis.

stargate is a sci-fi series that is set in modern times but we have advanced tech due to the stargate and a couple of ships thanx to an alien race that likes us ,the show trys to make sense of earths legends like camelot ,who the egyptian gods really are etc

sg1 season 7 ep 22 and season 8 ep 1
watch those and if they dont get you intrested nothing will! there about an attack on earth with some really cool ship battles above antartica Very Happy

stargate atlantis Episode 19 - The Siege (Part One) , 20 The Siege (Part Two) & atlantis season 2 Episode 1 - The Siege (Part Three)
awesome episodes about an alien attack on the newly discovered lost city of atlantis with rail guns blazing!

good acting imo and a very intresting storyline right from the start.
heres a little sample of the last atlantis episode aired http://www.snoop1050.pwp.blueyonder.co.uk/atlantis.rar (captured with fraps from windows media player so a tiny bit jerky at points lol)

btw really good site for sg1 info is http://www.sg1archive.com/
they have an episode guide for every series so you could have a browse and see if any eps sound good to you

He was referring to a Daedalus class ship. Which is the best ships earth has at the moment, it's one step up from the Promethius class.

Why is it that every evil "powerful" civilization uses soldiers from farming colonies. I mean, the Go'auld used people running around in metal armor, the Ori uses the same retarded technique. And look at the wraith, when they're in ground combat, their only advantage is that they can take a lot of fire.

I lack soldiers in this series, and a serious threat. I mean, look at the peacekeepers in Farscape, or the Cylons in BSG, that's some organized enemies that can deal out a whole lot of hurt due to training, advanced equipment, and experience.

This latest episode of SG-1 just reinforces my disapproval of it. Just look at the Ori soldiers. A bunch of cannon fodder, just like the Jaffa.

I suppose they have to, if they're sending in SG-1 tho', since they're only four, and are poorly armed and skilled (well, ok, Teal'c is good).

According to SG-1, an army is only so good as to be weak enough to have their arse kicked by SG-1. Yay! \o/
