They’re Micro. They’re Machines. And they’re BACK! We’re delighted to announce that legendary gaming franchise Micro Machines will be racing onto PCs and consoles this coming April! The new title, Micro Machines World Series, will be racing into stores this Spring - bringing massive amounts of miniature multiplayer mayhem to PlayStation® 4, Xbox One and Windows.

Codemasters’ VP Publishing, Jonathan Bunney commented: “The original Micro Machines was a breakthrough multiplayer racing game and remains much loved in the gaming community. We saw great success last year with our free-to-play mobile game, but this brand new console title takes the franchise to its greatest levels of multiplayer mayhem and enables you to play with your friends on the same sofa or across the world.”

Bunney continued: “With the support of Hasbro and being able to feature some of their biggest brands, such as HUNGRY HUNGRY HIPPOS, G.I. JOE, OUIJA and NERF, this represents the very best of social gaming.” He also added that the game brings an “incredibly fun experience” to PCs and consoles, offering a breath of fresh air from the more serious multiplayer alternatives.

Releasing in April 2017, Micro Machines World Series will support up to 12 players online and four players on the same screen, across a variety of racing and battling environments. Each of the 12 vehicles has its own unique load-out of weapons and abilities and the game will launch with a massive range of customisation options.

Micro Machines arrives for PS4, Xbox One and PC on April 21. All classic modes + a Battle Arena mode. Multiplayer modes too. Could be good.

Only pity is that most of these need to be Twisted Metal games these days. Rather just had a micro machines that was about racing in unusual places.

This trailer is pre-rendered it seems. Do you guys think it's possibily "in engine" though ? If so, very nice.

MMV3 is my favorite !

Micro Machines was one of the first PC games I played back in 1993. A demo came on the very first issue of PC Gamer and it had two player mode on my favorite table too (the school stuff table with rulers, pencils, notepads, etc.) I remember driving through ink spots and being amazed at how the smoke turned purple. After coming from the peasant consoles Twisted Evil Micro Machines looked so colourful and smooth - one of the games that got me hooked on PC games.

The second game was even better but I wasn't a big fan of the third - it was technically good, but looked terrible even at the time. It lost all the charm of the first two games and the camera angles I recall being rather annoying at times. On top of that, it was a bitch to run on later operating systems. I hope this game is a return to form - it sure has the looks.

You are not answering my question. It's obviously not in game.

I'm asking if it's "in engine".

EA is usually doing this in their latest trailers... Because we have no idea about its engine. iOS port ? Etc.

The one in Sega was awesome. Racing on the dining room table trying to avoid syrup puddles.

Reading the reviews ... no SP campaign, too little content, cheapass battle stuff detracting from the racing and focus on online modes. Cars are just different skins? Confused

a little review from a buyer:

- yes, mostly just online, with the possibility of "skirmish" offline
- content is not that big, just elimination (original MM formula), domination style and pure race
- vehicles are not that distant one from another, but not all the same (same mario kart pattern, acceleration, speed, weight)

I really dont understand why make it so "casual" game: why can't I organize a proper tournament?
Online gaming is "wait for a tournament online" or "quick online game" (which ends at the end of the single race).
I have to wait for "official" tournaments to start to make a long run, so I have to play at their conditions.

I didn't pay a lot, but still, weird and not many choices for this game.

I forgot... the game Smile
That is still the old MM styled game, with lots of situations going: I don't know why so few tracks available (like 6-7) and no other type of vehicles (just wheeled, no motorboats etc.). A bit frustrating.
