I think when i finished P5 im gonna get a Vita to play 4 Golden, my catalogue of psn+ games i amassed over the years by only clicking buy is also a little factor. And i heard its a treasure trove for jrpg fans.

Good idea - P4 Golden, as well as being a great game, just works really well on the Vita.
Hmmm Im not sure what this is about. I never played any of the previous games. Is it like anything else and if so what? I feel like I am missing out ... lol.
I'm trying to FTP the PS3 PSN release from my desktop to the PS3 internal HDD with Filezilla and everytime my PC freezes. Wtf. Any advice? First time I experience this issue as I used Filezilla dozens of times to transfer PS3 releases.
Get to likely sencond half of the second half of the first dungeon and wipe because this game pressures with everything it can pressure you with. Time, money and fucking mana. Ragequit!
the time frame given for first dungeon was very relaxed and i stretched it out while doing many other things in between and had no problems beating the dungeon in time. i also played the previous persona games though, so maybe it's just something that has to click.
just a tip, dont try to go for a perfect run from the get go, you will have other oportunities to do most of the things you dont have any time for currently.
What a god damn moron ... I use a new slot with every save - one save a day - so I lose a day at most.
About the game:
It's funny - I loved Persona 4 and tried playing Persona 3 and while I liked the day stuff, I got very bored from the battles. The "dungeons" were repetitive and the action as well so I always quite playing after a dozen or so hours.
I'm glad to see Persona 5 upped the ante by creating unique locations for the main castles while adding a grind-zone for loot and exp that gets randomized. This means you never get forced into a grind if you don't want to. I also feel the combat improvements are very cool - the ability to turn over to a team mate if you hit a weakness is important to let you create a string of attacks for example. And, Persona 3 also lacked what Persona 4 & 5 have: a more personal story. Persona 3 had a more "go ahead and save the world" but it had a more distant feel to it.
Yea I am almost 60 hrs into it and finished 4 main dungeons so far, its still as fun and addictive as in the first few hours. I liked Persona 1-3, loved 4, but this is simply the best entry so far, it improved upon alot of the weaker aspects of the series and is a true evolution of it.

Persona 4 is still my favorite because of the synergy between the characters. In P5, the synergy isn't quite as good and the setting is more dreary too. Most of it stems from P4 being set in a small-ish town which felt cozy, friendly, inviting. P5 is set in a big city which lacks that appeal. The characters in P4 felt like a real family whereas in P5, they feel more like an odd bunch - it's better than P3 where I felt little connection at all, but still, I doubt they'll top P4 any time soon.
The music in P4 was better as well - P5 has similar music but having listened to the entire soundtrack, there's zero tracks that really make me go "oooo". For example the moment late in Persona 4 when the song Snowflakes start playing gave me shivers:
Persona 5's music is harder, more energetic and less sensitive which I guess fits with the darker tone and the city but it all comes down to me missing the town Inaba. Even Persona 3 had a more homely setting (although it's hard to beat having a cute sis like Nanako compared to a grumpy coffee shop owner).
When Persona 5 came out last year in Japan, an animted short called The Day Breakers was released to help promote the game. It’s only 20-minutes long, but is definitely worth watching if you’re a fan of the game.
Most likely spoilery as fuck if you didn't play the game, I'd stay away until then.
Yeah I didn't watch the Persona 4 animation until after I completed it as well - even a trailer would ruin too much since a lot of the game is about keeping things a secret. Heck, I feel that P5 already reveals too much by itself compared to P4, with the start of the game being the end as well. For movies, it kind of makes sense, but for games I've never liked that when there was a story behind it to solve. Dragon Age II did something similar.
I loved Persona 3 and 4 but I got bored because of the boring random generated dungeons.
Persona 5 with designed dungeons is a perfection. I feel like a kid again playing for 5-10 hours a day. I also get invested so much into the characters - when will Ann notice that I love her, I even read Vogue for her
Yea the bland randomized dungeons were the worst thing about old Persona games and 5 fixed that. While I can understand that people may prefer characters from 4, it's all down to personal preference, but gameplay-wise 5 is undeniable better.

Ann is nice, but Makoto is my waifu.
I never felt Persona 4's dungeons to be that bland. Persona 3 on the other hand ... its dungeons were boring beyond tears. The whole game just felt lacking compared to Persona 4 and Persona 5 further improves the game elements. Persona 4 with Persona 5 game mechanics would be almost perfection.
Can anyone explain what this game is about from a gameplay point of view? Is it comparable to anything else? I watched a few videos (not too many and very little of what I watched since I didn't want to be spoiled in case I feel interested in playing it) and I don't understand much of it except that it has some JRPG combat in it. I've never played a Persona game before.
What is it that makes it a great game (except the art style, which looks amazing)?
half rock solid JRPG gameplay (with sort of pokemon elements), half social simulator and both parts tie into each other, in the end it's more than the sum of its parts.
