IMHO, the DLC is a big disappointment. It's basically just a few missions, most of which are car action based. Tried it a bit before bedtime and inadvertently finished it.

Haven't tried afterwards, but from what I've read, the new map map expansion is basically useless once these story missions are complete.

Quote:
developer Hangar 13 and publisher 2K announced that Mafia III’s second expansion, Stones Unturned, is set to launch on May 30th.

Notably, the expansion stars not only Lincoln Clay, the protagonist from the base game, but John Donavan, who Lincoln works with throughout the game. In the expansion, Donovan has called upon Lincoln to help him get revenge on Conor Aldridge, a traitor who left Donovan for dead during his time in Vietnam, and who has showed up in New Bordeaux causing trouble, or as Hangar 13 puts it cutting a destructive path through the city.

According to a Hangar 13, Aldridge is “unorthodox,” and contains a methodology described as “extreme.” And like Donavan, sees himself as a patriot.

For the expansion, it is said Donavan will be by your side, out in the thick of things, for most of the experience. According to Hangar 13 the expansion is good for showing that Donavan is not just some “desk jockey” but can also — like Lincoln — “kick some ass.”

The expansion will take place not only in New Bordeaux, but on a new rainforest island as well. It also come packed with some new weapons and services, including a sniper service, that you will need as you take on Aldridge and his men, who are highly trained mercenaries, at a level that Lincoln hasn’t faced since he got home from Vietnam.

A price-point for the DLC has not been revealed, however, the game’s previous and first expansion cost $14.99 USD, so expect a price in this ballpark. Mafia III is currently available on PS4, Xbox One, and PC.

Did they ever fix the framerate issues of this game?

Nope, I tried it again just a couple of weeks ago out of curiosity and the performance was still absolutely all over the place for me. I believe there was only one initial patch that somehow addressed some of the technical issues and (marginally) the framerate drops, since then the focus has been only on the procedure of milking through DLCs™ Laughing

I never had issues after the initial patch on a non-yarred copy and GTX 1070. Apparently still runs like shit for a lot of people.

Do you have to finish the main story before you can access the DLC?

"I think Call of Duty resonates because it's believable and relatable," Sledgehammer Games cofounder Michael Condrey says.

Believable and relatable...Yep, sounds like Call of Duty

I don't know about this one, but for Faster Baby you need to have a sitdown with all 3 under-bosses. I had completed the main game, so got the mission marked on the map.

A little bit, it still sees framerate drops even on high-end systems though such as 1080 GPU's going by the Steam community forums, some of it might be a bit exaggerated but since there's so many reports about problematic performance still there's probably some truth to it.

Game still crashes periodically here so I haven't played it much myself lately, patches so far have been silent or how to say with no info on what's being changed besides the obvious DLC compatibility which is really annoying though then again these "patches" just might not really be anything else but said compatibility with these DLC chapters so there isn't anything they could post about them.
