I just finished it. Took precisely 40 hours, did around 75% secondary missions I think. It's worse than any of the previous games but not nearly as bad as people seem to think. Some immediate thoughts:
- Facial animatíons are bad but you get over it. Overall, facial animations are lifeless.
- I hammered space bar quite a bit because the dialogue is usually either bad or boring.
- The plot is unimaginative and borrows a lot from the trilogy
- Combat is fun, max three skills is restrictive though
- Companions are ok, though some (especially Cora & Liam) are as dull as they come
- Loyalty missions are mostly a lot better (though you have to do some repetitive missions to unlock the main mission
- Main missions are fun
- 99% of choices have no actual lasting consequences, only some dialogue
- Some annoying bugs, various freezes while loading and during cutscenes
- Travelling between planets is a pain
- You raise the planetary viability by doing missions. You must have at least 40% viability to establish an outpost (establishing sometimes needs some extra missions as well). Too bad viability doesn't seem do anything else, even when at 100%.
- Ending is always the same.
- There is new game+
This should have been a more focused game. Driving around planets was fun but as most secondary missions are so dull and there aren't any meaningful reason to actually raise the viability of a planet, I don't think this kind of "open-world" suits Mass Effect.
In spite of this, I actually had a good time. The story, characters & combat are interesting enough to play this through.
Thanks for the review Baguette.
@Baguette Yeah thanks dude. Nice review
This is quite on par with my thought after seeing some livestream. (I don't trust youtube video reviews anymore)
I definitely want this game (even if Ashley isn't in ) but I will wait for a decent gamekey price and hopefully an "animations" update to fix this joke.
Other than that the game looks beautiful and enjoyable, this is just a mass effect game ... after all.

Not huge on spoilers. I am going to play this, but if everything is over exaggerated because it's bad on a few sections then i can certainly deal with that.
Damn thats some female Shephard Jacob sexfestival. The air is electrically charged. Dirty sexflow going on there. Good old Mass Effect games its always a pleasure.
@VGAdeadcafe Yeah you're the 1%, congrats, but the priiiiiiiiiiiiiiizzzzzzzzzzeeeeeeeeeeee
This, the way he says "Prize" just sets the tone for it being more funny than "Romantic" allthough romance in games has been nothing but a joke to me anyway.
Like, the new Engineer in Andromeda is super obviously gay for you from the second you meet him. I don`t reallly get this focus and ME would be off fine without any of it.
Enjoying Andromeda more or less like the first time i played ME1, buggy and and has it`s problems but it`s an entertaining fantasy game.
TBH this feels like mix of ME1 and DAO, maybe i stand alone on that but that`s the feeling im getting anyway
btw did anyone share this? https://www.twitch.tv/videos/130290955
he is an ex bioware dev and he shits all over the animation and dialogues he worked on Jade Empire, ME1 and DA:O
