Bigben and Games Workshop are happy to announce their partnership for the development of a console and PC game based on the renowned Warhammer Fantasy Battles IP.
This adaptation of the franchise will be the first Hack and Slash game to unfold in the Warhammer world. The game takes place in the Old World, a dark and bloody continent devastated by the wars against Chaos. Dive into the heart of the Warhammer story, become a hero and battle to survive the desolation.
Additional information on the story, key realms and geography, the platforms and playable races will be unveiled shortly.

The devs who made How to Survive? I mean, even regardless of their track record (mediocre at best imo), they don't exactly have the manpower nor infrastructure to make a good hack and slash. So wtf was Games Workshop thinking?

This is just another example of GW licensing out their IP to pretty much anyone these days.

Yea I'm well aware, I just thought they have seen Total War and would have realized there are big money to be made if the IP is given to a studio that can actually make good, big titles. Hell, give it to Paradox and let them make a Stellaris 40k game. I guarantee that shit would sell like crazy, hell the pre-order would break 40k game records.

I doubt GW is knocking back offers. The logical conclusion is bigger players aren't particularly interested for whatever reason.
