The primary game mode is a form of the familiar survival co-op, where teams of four players work together to fight off ever-growing waves of enemies while completing a series of objectives prior to reaching an extraction point.
At launch, players will have the option to select from 25 different character kits, including species from both Milky Way and Andromeda galaxies. There are no class restrictions on weapons, so every single character can be equipped with a loadout comprised of weapons and tech from the Milky Way, Heleus Cluster, and the Remnant. Players can level up their characters as they collect experience points, and most weapons and technology can be upgraded with other rewards collected from successful missions.
In addition to survival mode, Andromeda also offers strike team missions, which loosely tie into the campaign mode. While they don’t include dialogue or story elements, they basically function as side missions, giving players opportunity to amass experience and resources for use in the campaign. Strike team missions can be completed with AI characters or online with other humans, but the latter will probably be preferred to tackle the occasional “Apex mission”, which might be more difficult to handle with strictly AI teammates. Strike team missions are accessed right from the Tempest (the new Normandy), so they’re integrated into solo play almost seamlessly, allowing players to take a short break from pursuing story objectives without having to close out of the campaign to sit in a matchmaking waiting room.
To encourage players to participate in multiplayer, live daily challenges and reward multipliers will be available on a regular basis. While this can supplement the single-player experience, it’s fortunately not an essential element, so players that don’t care to participate in multiplayer activities can simply ignore that component of the game without suffering any handicap of the single player experience.
Your journey starts early with EA Access and Origin Access. Take to the stars and enjoy 10 hours of gameplay (including full multiplayer access and a chance to explore your first planet in single-player) starting days before launch. Plus, your save progress carries over if you decide to buy the full game, and you’ll save 10% automatically with your membership.
Well I think Im going to be dusting off the Xbox shortly. There's no way Im missing the chance to play the 10 hour EA Access Trial for £4 even if I dont plan on playing the retail game on Xbox
Looking forward to the future Hump intervention triggered when headshot becomes a man bewildered and lost in his apartment surrounded by mountains of console game boxes.
Let me know if it "Feels" like Mass Effect, will ya?
Well Bioware done good! I mean I only played the first planet mission which appears to be chapter 1 in about 3 hours so I have 7 hours left but thats being postponed as Im about to play Zelda: Breath of the Wild finally!
Definitely getting Mass Effect: Andromeda though as its pretty epic I have to say! Yes it feels very much like a Mass Effect game! Nice visuals on Xbox One, probably look amazing on PS4 Pro and even better on a high end PC but PS4 Poor will be my platform for retail. Love the environments and super intrigued by the story and the signature story line differences based on consequential decisions.
Gonna play my remaining 7 hours a bit later but right now its Zelda
Good to hear, since im not as supreme and hardcore as the Master Race Folk (i just have one of their machines as hostage) i`ll probably have fun with this.
No offense headshot but I'm really skeptical about this game : read the comments in the PC section, most people that tried it are bashing it so much...

That scares me a little.
Well at the end of the day the game is what it is but yes it does seem to be getting bashed. I can overlook stuff like this.
Sounds really boring. And I loved ME and ME2. In fact I'm sure even the average reviews are overmarking it as they sound desperate to try and find good things about this game.
Liked the trial too and "everyone" says there are good quests and the game has a slow start. I'll probably enjoy regardless because finally i can play some more ME.
Im not going to say fuck the haters because they do have some good points and their opinions don't matter anyway. Wich is good/bad in each its own right.
I have too much of a backlog to even remotely care for this one even if it's any good.
I mean I already have Zelda and Horizon to play ATM, no need for another RPG.
Actually I didn't even play horizon more than 5min cuz of Zelda :S I think by then Mass Effect will be patched to death and be 5 € (and headshot may be able to sell me his copy for that price, that is considering he sold bloodborne and ds3 already right ? )
Yah runs poor on Pro, stutters everywhere with FPS drops especially during cut scenes.
That fucking character creator though, holy shit. Mass Effect gonna' Mass Effect. Made a perfectly fine looking face, get in game, WHAT IS THIS HORRID PIECE OF SHIT?!
Started over like 8 times trying not to get a fucking tragedy for a face. And you can't skip the fucking opening movie.

I have to agree with that. I just went with Sara Ryder lol.
I was pretty annoyed I couldnt even modify Sara Ryder. I just wanted to make her blonde, ah well ...
Even with all the bullshit going on with this game, it's good to be back in the ME universe, I missed it so. Loved 1-3. Hoping Andromeda 2 or whatever direction they go cleans up some of this, but love being back in the series.
I received a 20% off coupon for US PSN (hint, subscribe to their newsletter, they have some of them), not sure now if that would make me decide getting it digital for a fair price, since some of you like it...
