Okay, so, here's my review of the trial:
I tried it, so you don't have to. No, seriously. Don't.
Kaltern was spot on. Much worse than the videos we have seen.
Will it get better later on? ... Does it ever?

I like how Bioware said they didn't screw with the PC version, yet we have a game with a terrible cover system, no crouch and without quickave or the ability to save during the missions.

The cover system is possibly the worst I've ever played. The original one, while not perfect, was still hugely better than whatever this is supposed to be. When I'm in cover, I expect not to be hit, as I do not have peripheral vision from the viewpoint of my character, I don't actually know if I am exposed or not - which is why the 'snap to cover' thing works so well - you don't need to worry about that unless being flanked.
Quicksaving is seemingly random - I can only assume it's disabled when you're doing something 'important' - which makes sense of course....
I am still going to keep playing the full 10 hours - or to whatever arbitrary point EA decide they want your money - I need to see just how deep the rabbit cesspit goes.

Ea knew exactly what they were doing by under marketing it, they know exactly how bad the game is and didn't want to waste any more money on it.

In a move that's surprised noone, all the 'mainstream' gaming sites have given the game great reviews, except RPS which, due to their resident twat reviewing it, isn't being taken seriously, even when it is the complete truth.
Trusted Reviews, for example gave this glowing summary of their time with ME:A -

Kotaku added a small disclaimer to their 20 minutes of play video.

None of the sites appear to have actually released an actual review - I assume this is under embargo until the actual release date. I suspect this won't matter much to console players - the ones I read in the bottom half of the internet all seem to think the negative reviews are just bashing the game because they want to be different.

I actually FUCKING ENJOYED being a gruff Specter. I don't want to roleplay a rainbow loving preteen just discovering the wonders and perils of adulthood. You have YA novelshits for that.
The main problem with this game, and it's a big one, this doesn't feel like Mass Effect in the least. It's a completely other something. And it's bad.

The Bioware from days gone by games sold well.
This will sell well.
Then they'll die off. I understand now why people were saying Bioware will go the same way as Maxis etc. Bioware, the games developers who brought us the original Mass Effect and Dragon Age games, no longer exist, and are now made up of those who just do what their EA overlords demand.
It's funny. I keep seeing comparisons to DA:I everywhere I look, and yet I don't really see it myself. Apart from the settings are entirely different, I actually quite liked the core elements to DA:I - the game as a whole was pretty crap, but the gameplay wasn't all terrible.
So far, in ME:A - everything is terrible, from the voice acting to the UI, the animations to the AI - the graphics are unbelievably poor, and well, yeah, so far I'm seeing nothing that tells me there is a glimmer of hope.
I will keep playing though. I might find the sex scenes interesting.

That is IT. THAT is what is wrong with this game. I couldn't seem to place the key problem with the FEEL of the game, and that is completely it, you've nailed it.
I feel like I'm playing as one of the Famous Five.
The whole thing OOZES preteen rainbow warrior. You're not there to save the galaxy. You're there to find a new home, to share your dreams and happiness with aliens who don't know or care about you, and that makes you real sad.
You can't understand why you just can't all get along, and even with your gay crew, you still feel like you're misunderstood. You WANT to fit in, but well, you just can't because you're not like your daddy, and therefore noone else thinks you can do the job you didn't want(butdidreally) and you just want everyone to love you.
All Ryder needs is a rainbow romp suit and the setting would be complete.
