Overall tone is rather derpy. Think they wanted to go for wondrous, but just sounds daft to me.

This video just proves again how horrible bioware is. Enemies offer no resistance at all. No AI to be seen, only enemies walking back and forth or sideways. Companions running around clueless or standing still in the middle of 'battle'. Gameplay looks horrible and boring. They start a gameplay video with scanning useless crap. They show nothing of interest just the same boring cover mechanics.
Can clearly tell this game is focused on pleasing casuals. Ofcourse the LBGT and SJW crowd doesn't want to be challenged in a game. They want easy to digest garbage and some love through a game so they can romance their abominations and put them as cover on their phones.
They don't seem to learn from Doom where the idiots showed CRAP gameplay videos when in the end the game itself wasn't that shit at all when played on highest difficulties.
Ofcourse it's easier to make a weak shell of a game and put a lot of effort in useless romances and shit. Those are much easier to create than some difficult AI or balancing gameplay.

The mission in the gameplay video is pretty handholding, look a gate, there must be a switch, this is the switch, press the switch, the gate is open - yay. This controls something, so you will be able to jump on it, etc. Aweful.
The dialogues are like something a teenager would write.
The gameplay looks like your standard Mass Effect 2-3 (or Gears of War or most cover shooters) game. Graphics are pretty neat.

Bioware was doomed to fail after EA got them. And after that Bioware finally died when Ray Muzyka and Greg Zeschuk left the company.

The punch is indeed shit, along with a bunch of other animations they have shown, but it's pretty disingenuous to claim the animations were better in ME2 & 3. They were filled with terrible and desynced animations.
Edit: I just watched that IGN video. Jesus Christ, that guy is legendary levels of derpness. How the fuck did he wind up getting a job reviewing games for a living?
