Passengers - 6.5/10

I hated the trailers; it seemed like "Popular Hot Guy & Girl: The Movie". And it is that kind of movie, absolutely. But they were both as charming as they should be, and the production design was excellent. Nice, easy, movie to watch before/as your brain turns off to go to sleep, or with your bf/gf/date. The critics were unfairly brutal towards it.

They showed a lot more of the universe, very cool and stylish. Fights were great and brutal, set pieces were done perfectly and oozed atmosphere.

Dr Strange - 5,5/10

There isn't much to say about the homeopathic Cucumber. It's a movie that had the potential to be surprising and brilliant, but decided that being a Marvel movie was enough, with all that entails. I liked the trippy scenes, the Cyriakisms and the special effects overall were actually decent for once, but that's pretty much about it really. It's still something, I guess xD

Doctor Strange - 5/10.

Nice visuals, but a boring movie. Took me two sitting to finish it. Sad

Arrival 7/10

I've expected much more from it. Somehow it just felt 'empty'. I think I get the idea but still..the movie made me wondering 'what was the point'?

Nocturnal Animals - 5.5/10

Was really excited about this but received very little. Ridiculous ending as well, much revenge.
Also, what was up with the development of Amy Adams' character ? The change in her attitude felt so forced just so it would fit the story.
Visuals were nice, actors played quite good as well, but everything else.. lackluster honestly.

Sully - 6,5/10

Not bad, but could be better. Clint eastwood and tom hanks still have it, but both have done much better in the past. Photography is amazing, the story is interesting (doh, the guy landed a jetplane in a river), but I think the dialogue is lacking and I didn't like many parts, especially towards the end. I can't say it's a trend, but as with so many movies lately I really enjoy the first half and then things start to go sour...

Arrival - 6/10
Neither plot nor the characters were really well developed. And I didn't felt that there was any real threat except that heavy handed small exposition of riots.
It's a watchable movie hence the 6 points but overall I see it as a failure. The language part was interesting but suddenly it was cut and fast forwarded to switch it for personal drama about a people we are told almost nothing and so we don't like them nor care for them.
Meh...
I fear now for Blade Runner and Dune will be probably another snore fest.

Moana - 8/10. So Much Win

Very nice movie. Colourful, fantastic animation, enjoyable right from start, nice catchy songs. Everything except the big crab was lovely to watch.

I too share this opinion, it should be a much longer movie to develop the science, but then it would be way too slow and boring... idk, I just didn't quite like the approach. Maybe a sequel would be better...

Doctor Strange 3D - 8/10

Quite the spectacle! One of the best 3D effects I've seen, FX astonishingly put to good use justifying the stereoscopic view.
Movie per se is nice, probably the nicest introductory MCU flick to date Smile

Brokeblack Mountain

I was a bit disappointed, I think it could have been much better. But now, Naomie Harris's performance was... mesmerizing, mindblowing Surprised she better be nominated for the awards. I still have to see the other performances, but IMO they're going to have to be just incredible for her not to win.

EDIT: Sorry. I meant Moonlight.
