I think it will be much like DA:I in space - which means it's going to be good, not great.

While I'm sceptical about Bioware developers, they claim to have learned "some lessons" regarding DA:I and the MMO-ish features.
Here's hoping that's true.

Am I the only one that didn't like DA:I at all? I thought it was littered with generic map filling quests that really looked like some procedurally generated crap to me.
Especially when I came into the second zone and saw the gameplay and quests were almost identical to the first zone, that was it for me.

It's a modern Bioware game. I'm pretty sure you're not the only one who didn't like it.

How did you come to that conclusion? That you're the only one I mean... plenty of people had the same complaints about DA:I.

It's full of dreary and grindy filler content - but it's all very optional.
To me, the good parts were the character progression, the main narrative (not great - but decent enough), and especially the visual variety in the zones.
The combat wasn't great - but it was entertaining enough, especially as a melee rogue.
Overall, it was much better than Dragon Age 2 - but nothing special.

Everytime I hear anyone say anything about DA:I it's always about how good the game was. I have a feeling this game is widely embraced not just by critics but by the gaming community and I don't understand why
The graphics look great though, I'll give it that.

I'm the one who only liked non-open world parts of DA:I. Strip at least 80% of tat from open world segments and you would actually get a good game worth replaying more then once without boring you to death.
If there was a modding scene for DA:I, that would be a hell of a good project to make.

I played through DA:I, and at that time actually thought it wasn't that bad mechanics wise. Since I never much fancied open world RPGs, I didn't think much of how boring it was - thought that was just the way it is. The story and characters were atrociously bad paper-cutouts. Worst writing of BioWare, sharing the spot with DA2.
Then POE came along, and reminded me how GOOD team based RPG mechanics were supposed to be like. So my opinion of DA:I further slipped.
Then TW3 came along, and fucked the everlasting shit out of the trash, that was DA:I. (Yeah, at this point this is like some sort of objective truth of the universe, so don't come at me with opinions, please. That's my opinion, mkay?)
You see, DA:I was not action enough to be a good action-RPG, but it wasn't tactical enough to be a good cRPG. It landed in-between. What I call the safe-zone. Everything about DA:I was uninspired, focus-tested shit that definitely doesn't offend. It also doesn't evoke any sort of emotions at all. That is exactly what happens, when you try to be everything to everyone. You fail. And DA:I tried many things, did nothing well. Shit.
Loved the graphics though. That was awesome.

I loved DA: I when it came out. I really did. I fully finished the game three times. And then TW3 came and i couldn't start DA: I again anymore.

I kind of enjoyed DA:I on release but it had so many flaws that I was essentially being more forgiving because I expected them to get fix eventually. Except they weren't. The "tactical" camera view was useless since it only had the minimal amount of zooming out, the powers your characters had were largely dull and the AI was a joke - they kept getting stuck on rocks, logs, outcrops, etc. Every battle was filled with annoyances and cursing. Where strategy should come first, struggling with the horrible interface and game mechanics took up most of the time. On top of that, none of the characters had any charm, the world was largely tedious, respawning ridiculous, the way camps worked broke immersion and it really felt more like a shallow action game as a result. Score 5/10

Is it me or does she look strange? Aliens look cool designwise as usual.
I got it.. they prolly morphed all human "races" into one character so its diverse.

Wow, the first screen looks bad after the 'gameplay' vids. I sure hope those are console screens. The female does indeed look strange.

There's a touch of the cartoonish - which isn't a good fit.
But it's not that big of a deal.

So they paid a model to stand and be scanned and photographed - only to create something that is 100% NOTHING LIKE HER?
That's like asking ME to model for an Asari.
Did I miss the point?
