So i've been doing some digging, seems that even people with 1080 experience heavy stuttering and drops, some even stated that the game keeps their CPU at 99%.
Besides the stuttering, I also got pop-ins, textures failed to load for a few seconds here and there.

I play with 980Ti on 1080p, full max details and aliasing - 40-70fps
I enjoy the game, thinking of ordering

Beta Review:
The game sucks ass. Don't buy it. Vivendi needs to buy Ubisoft and then shut Ubisoft down for good. It is a terrible game in the same mold of useless, bland, inept Ubisoft attempts at making an open world experience. Everything about it is complete ass from characters, voice acting, the environment, the weapons, the sfx audio, the animations, the combat AI, the AI in general, the vehicle mechanics, the cutscenes, the missions - everything is utterly shit-stained and stinks of piss and garbage. Optimization is also terrible, but turning down graphics a bit helped that situation.
Very disappointing. It doesn't deserve your money. There will be more games to waste money on.
Everything about this game is so fucking lifeless and shitty. Definitely a quantity over quality type of deal. I don't care about the stupid civilian AI, the stupid animals and whatever, the game makes those non-factors. The enemies are stupid inbred clones and the game reeks of being yet another Watchdogs type franchise. Tries so hard to be cool but faceplants immediately.

This game scratches a very particular itch. However, the AI and some of the controls are pretty bad. I'm gonna hold of off a purchase, The Division ALSO scratched that particular itch for a TPS tactical thriller and look how that turned out.

I think Ubisoft should abandon the Open World/Big City style games. They just can't do it. They should focus their efforts on other types of games; or just close down permanently.
Oh, and the repetitive 'tagging' of generic resources grind to get points is TERRIBLE.

Well, I think their first games that used this particular recipe were great. I'm a big fan of AC2 and AC Brotherhood, but after that point it was pretty much a given that Ubisoft's open world titles would be grind fests. This seems to stray a bit from the idea mainly because you have the secondary missions which grant a much bigger pool of resources so tagging resources could be skipped altogether, imho, but I get your point. Exploring should reward with lore and more important stuff, rather than ways to grind up your skills.
LE: A proper open world game would be The Witcher 3, but that's a whole 'nother story altogether. And maybe STALKER? In any case, buying GRW because of an hour or two where I could have fun does not mean the full game will be as "fun", if you scroll back on the map all the way there are a whole lot of faces there. I'd hate grinding 6 missions to get to each and every one of them.

Ah, thanks for that mco2vie. Checked back on it and I have 2 invites left now (guess some didn't want to play this shit, don't blame em )
So if anyone wants it. Just hit me up with your Uplay through PM. First two get it, I don't care about post history or whatever for this.
Edit: Invites gone, going to Garus and andrewyou
Edit again: Figured I had to make it more readable that they are gone.

Yea like a really really bad Just Cause with co-op, but one that doesn't look as good and runs/feels bad.

Had the thought yesterday: This could have used a Just Cause approach. Embracing the daftness completely. It just does neither: nothing serious and nothing over the top fun.
It's like bryndza says, everything put in seems in a way where they just stopped caring halfway. There was not one thing to me that felt like it was properly done, everything was just mediocre, uninspired and lifeless vaseline crap making the total experience a total shit game.
prudislav wrote: | Meridius55 wrote: | feels like Just Cause to me... and not in the good way |
well at least it runs better than JC3 |
Not at all on my rig, JC3 ran great (for mysterious reasons, but I admit that is a fluke seeing how many had problems with it ) while this one not looking that great runs pretty mediocre, flip flopping between 40 and 60 fps constantly even with settings turned down.

Holy authentic brofist jesus.
I don't know how they did it, but they combined the worst possible aspects of modern gaming and merged them into one single pear-shaped entity that sums up what's wrong with the industry. It's brilliant in its own twisted way.
I had already set my expectations to below zero, it looked very underwhelming from the videos and was 100% prepared to face utter mediocrity, yet the game still managed to surprise me. What an absolute, utter load of triple-A Ubi-grade popamole junk.
The game even tries to be taken seriously, whilst presenting an uber arcadey structure that one would expect from a brainless action game, with the pea shooting reminiscent of Call of Duty (little recoil, no realism whatsoever), bloodyscreensoreal regen, the frankly shocking AI reactions, patterns and companions, robotic speeded up animations, no physics engine (with the driving being simply ridiculous), a gigantic uninspired map filled with coloured copy-pasta activities to get XP, skill(z), unlock more arcady superpowers, the dialogues which I can't even.
On Ghost (well "Ghost") and with most of the HUD elements disabled I've always been able to take down crucial enemies without problems, headshotting all the remaining ones without even needing my other AI teammates. Why even use the nextgen Mark and Execute, when it's actually easier to kill everyone without the fear to get spotted. The enemy AI is so slow/blind that the player has always the upper hand.
Then there's the fact that it runs like garbage while not providing any worthwhile effects/eyecandy whatsoever, but compared to all the rest it's almost a negligible problem, go figure xD
This is already the embarrassment of the year as far as I'm concerned, it's a shitshow that wouldn't be acceptable under normal circumstances, let alone under the 'Ghost Recon' name...for me it's simply insulting.

4 years of development. 4 years. 4, I can't believe it. He even says it at the start it took us 4 years please like this game in an unskippable intro for a beta. 4 years of creating a turd.
I played no more than 10 mins and knew enough. I am not going to put effort to like something. It feels to me like the employees just worked on it instead of putting passion into it.
Not one of them saw that it wasn't FUN to play? Even something simple as the iron sight felt like crap.

I've seen quite a few big streamers' streams of the game and none of them were impressed. It was like 'ok, so, if there's nothing else to play the week Wildlands comes out I might play it on-stream'. Very neutral reception as a result of the beta.
There's little reason to believe the game will be different on release, simply because we know Ubisoft's track record.
Ubisoft is VERY hit or miss. You can perhaps give them Rainbow Six: Siege, but geez, even that was massively downgraded from the E3 gameplay.

And uninstalled, did what the beta gave us to do. It's ok, I can buy if they fix the performance. Out of nowhere drops = unacceptable.
4 years for what? for the view distance of the hills?

Played the Beta yesterday ... all day long.
Enjoyed it a lot ! (thanks again Morphineus for the invite)
IMHO,
Pros:
- Dat "sync shot" feature is just marvelous
- AI team mates are finally usefull (and not simply an annoyance for a change)
- Huuuuge open world with still a background story
- Weapon smith / RPG, resources elements
- Looks very nice
- Bolivia atmosphere
Cons:
- Weird vehicules controls
- Crappy helicopters controls
- and WTF style planes controls
Hopefully fixed cons in final game:
- performance needs optimisations
- some blurred road textures when moving (tex stream too slow? )
I play on 4K and had too lower some settings (detail distance, shadows, ...) to maintain fps in the safe "above 40fps G-Sync zone". (GPU usage 100%)
Hopefully nVidia's gameready drivers will allow at least 50fps with max setting @4K
(For reference with max setting @ 4K gave me some drop to 32fps and 42fps average)
So all popular streamers rapidly switched back to Conan Exile, Overwatch ?
I think this is mainly because this game has only SINGLE PLAYER and 4pl COOP mode, and nowadays the mass streaming audience don't give a single fucking shit about not MMO, MOBA games...
Well I think this is my type of games, you know, when I am launching ARMA3 I always end up messing with the editor trying stuff and trying to reproduce a dynamic open world.
This is just what GR:WL is about and I think it does it exactly how I wanted it for so long.
I also like my AI team mates here, they are deadly, not so stupid, and feel alive.
And they are certainly smarter than huge amount of public servers human players for sure
So I definitely put this game on my wishlist and as it is a UBI game, I will buy it next year when fully fixed and on sale
