You cant accurately give your opinion based only having watched s01e01. Someone said anyone thinking of watching The Leftovers should decide to continue or not after the first three episodes.
Yup I've been quite vocal on that, so have others.
To give you an idea Herry: I disliked the show after the first epi, by the second that got changed into a 'meh' and by the third I was absolutely sold.
There is a lot of details and great performances down the road if you want to give it a chance, but I can understand after Lost and that crappy first epi it's hard to give it that.
Honestly, if the Pilot doesn't sell off it's not going to cut it in 3 episodes, you can like it, I didn't, and that's all I said Literally 90% of the series I watched so far have been thrilling in the first episode and urging me to watch the next asap. Even re-watching LOST has been more entertaining than that. It was "hyped up" and it didn't match the hype so I see where this will go (sadly), especially the old "questions unanswered" no thanks. Don't need more of that unfinished stuff for watching series. So I guess you're right, maybe once they "finish" the series I might give it another go.
Only voicing it because it's pretty rare for me to say "ugh no" and I would say I'm a pretty casual movie and series watcher, so don't take my words up high on a pedestal where they don't belong
So, I finally watched the first season after hearing so many good things about the second. And it's "eh, ok" 6-7ish season. A few episodes stand out, like the Nora Durst centric episode, but overall too drawn out, too much focus on GR, etc. But damn, season 2, from editing to acting, is very good indeed.
As a side note, damn, I didn't recognizer Carrie Coon. Well, that's not the right way to say it. The only other thing I've seen her in was Gone Girl, and I didn't recognizer her as the same woman. I was thinking "who is this cutie that acts so well" and literally my jaw dropped when I saw it was her in Gone Girl.
Is this shit like Lost? I try to watch the first season but it smells of BS.

@VonMisk: I have greatly enjoyed both the seasons, but what Shocktrooper said is 100% true. The show definitely is a collection of bizarre, often incoherent, completely unrealistic, fabricated bullshits, designed ad hoc to captivate the viewer by raising questions which never receive an answer (it's Lindelof after all).
At the same time though....turn off the rational part of the brain and it's one of the most beautiful and visually/emotionally engaging collections of bullshits that you can find on Television. A superb dichotomy
If one is willing to accept that, then he's up for an epic ride. Otherwise, it's going to be damn complicated to say the least.
I think I will wait for S3 and see if it gets some coherent ending. Otherwise I won't waste my time for it.
