I'm thinking of getting one but have no idea where to start and which is good. I want it to show images from my computer and be shining on a wall about 1 and a half metres by 3. The 'projection distance' Will only be a few metres so it doesn't need to be super powerful as long as the image is crisp and good to do various things on it. and if need be, play games / draw etc. Smile

And I'll spend a few hundred £'s on one. But like I said it doesnt need to be the best one around. I'm looking at around the £350 mark at most.

nah there are some cheap ones for like £100 and some brand new super high power ones for £1000. Like i said its only going to be for my bedroom for films and TV maybe. It will only need to project about 3 metres (at most) and I want the image size to be about 1.5metres in diameter.

I have a BenQ 6100 DLP Projector and im quite pleased with it. I picked it up last year for about $750 Canadian. So what is that, about $400 E. I project to a 100` wide screen and it looks very good. It was the best for the price when i picked it up.

Well you get alot for the money ! Let's say you pay 2000-3000euro for a 42" HD ready plasma
when you can get a 60-200" HD ready projector for the same price. And for 2000-3000euro you get a really good one that kicks plasma big time

the lamp time is always a issiue ! normaly it's around 3000h but think about it 3000h is alot. And the price of a new lamp has always been problem but not anymore there are sites from japan that sels high quality lamps for only 100-200euro depens on brand+shippment

anyway nothing beats a 90" screen (200x116cm) it's so sweet with a good dvd player and a nice sound.
