I imagine the demo had a lot to do with it, it's what also helped with Doom right?
Either way, I'm glad it was cracked quickly.

no why should it have helped? the re7 demo was d-protected too and it will have had ofc other triggers etc than the basegame. and the demo of doom didnt had anything to do with doom getting cracked cause of the same reasons

That's a pleasant surprise. Very Happy I'm not a fan of RE games at all (only played 4 and 5 for a while, never finished them), but I heard good things about this one.
No wonder ^^ If i just would have tried those 2 (where 5 is the worst) i woudnt be a fan myself.

The only true RE`s are 1 to 3, you should definetly check them out. (1 and 0 are allready Remastered and available for download).

Patch #1: What was it needed for?

Quote:

The following issues have been addressed in today's update:

Fixed an issue where saving game progress was no longer possible if the player deleted the local save file while Steam Cloud has been turned off.

Fixed an issue where HDR mode is turned back to ON upon app launch if the player quits the prior game session in full screen mode and with HDR set to OFF.

(Nothing much really.)

Maybe they used the demo as a base though to gain time and started working on RE7 since december Smile

No. This was the best choice. This isn't about the game. It's about sending a message.

Yay movie reference. No seriously it is nice to see a new game cracked so quickly after release. Maybe you get your choice next time Smile

Lol did you even read what he wrote? no that's not how it works the demo is basically a whole different game as far as this goes so it wouldn't help them in any way they would just waste time cracking a demo Laughing

Yes I did.

You don't know that. The demo is the demo. Never said they used the demo exe to crack it.

I just said they could have trained themselves on the demo version before cracking up the full version.

Notice the word "could". Notice how it's an hypothesis. Never said I'm right and sure of what I said.

Is there any workaround for non-SSE4.1-CPUs? Maybe by using a savefile or something? Confused

There is a workaround : you can login to you account on another PC\laptop(not phenom) and save past basement and then load this save on your home Phenom PC via cloudsave

EDIT: I guess you don't need a steam account for the CPY version? Confused So in this case, can i just use any savegame from another user?

You should try to put saves in cpy save folder and if not working try putting that user accoundt steamid in cpy.ini

Resident Evil 7 – Latest version of the Denuvo anti-tamper tech cracked in less than five days
Quote:
When it was first introduced, Denuvo seemed like the perfect tool for developers to protect their games. And to be honest, Denuvo actually worked as the first games that were powered by it remained uncracked for several months. However, things have changed.

The latest version of Denuvo that was used in Resident Evil 7 has been cracked in less than five days. This basically means that all Denuvo games may be cracked (in the coming months), and that future games protected by it may be cracked in a matter of days.

This is big blow to all publishers who invested in this anti-tamper tech. On the other hand, this will please a number of PC gamers who boycotted games that were protected by Denuvo.

The big question now is whether Capcom will remove Denuvo from its title in order to boost the game’s sales. As said, there is a number of PC gamers who refused to purchase the game due to Denuvo.

For what it’s worth, publishers and developers can freely remove Denuvo whenever they feel like it. Crytek, Playdead and Bethesda removed Denuvo from The Climb, Inside and Doom the moment those games were cracked.

actually it would be kinda smart from crapcom to remove the big d now immediately. the horse has already left the barn and there might be way more people willing to pay for this when denuvo is removed than they would sell now after its cracked if they dont remove it. though denuvo doenst even worked out on this one, it has roughly 200k owners. dunno if thats enough to justify the costs for the anti temper tech

buuuuuuut: we are talking about ondisc dlc crapcom at its finest, so dont expect anything to change

Wut ofc i know that cause i know how Denuvo works it's not rocket science and if you bothered to actually read a bit about it you would know as well, even training wouldn't make sense cause the triggers and the basic implementation varies from exe to exe even a patch can totally change that, that's why i said it's basically a different game so it doesn't help them in any way.

I think it has been shown and proven (as far as someone can prove such a thing), that copy protection is only relevant for the first couple days, in regards to sales.

People who might hesitate to buy at day 1 might lean more towards buying if they have no alternative, other than waiting.

After that period, no one cares anymore and has usually already made up their mind to buy or not or to wait for a sale in the future anyways.

Imho, buying games by preorder, early access or even at release is a waste of time, money and nerves lol.

With all the "DLC, Season pass etc bullshit", I rather wait for a "complete edition" down the line or at least a sale.

Or until I get the full game through my humble bundle monthly subscription ^^.

I think I pre-ordered only once..That is to get Prey (denuvo) at a twice as cheap price (steam bug). Laughing

If it's shit I'll just refund it within 2 hours(it's a shooter , so 2 hours is more than enough to see whether it's going to suck or not).

True i almost never buy games day 1 these days unless it's something i really really want i think only 2 last year but i leave a lot of money in sales and stock up on games.
I probably would have bought this day 1 if it wasn't for Derpnuvo i i'm a huge fan of the series after all but hated the last 2 games and this one sounded great to me from the start.
Now i will just isodemo it and maybe buy it cheap down the line.
