adaware used to be my weapon of choice, but tried it now and it's crap

any recommendations?

My usual choice is AdwCleaner, pretty thorough and reliable to get rid of the ad-nastities: https://www.bleepingcomputer.com/download/adwcleaner/

- Emsisoft Emergency Kit
- Malwarebytes Portable (scan and destroy only)
- Malwarebytes Anti-Rootkit
