so, after many years of using utorrent (because everyone told me to !) i finally switched to bittorrent (client), after all the bit mining bs i heard and saw from utorrent ...
except ..
what the fuck is the difference ? It's the same fucking thing, isn't lol ?
I actually found that out first, when i switched to bittorrent on my samsung phone, because utorrent would slow down the phone a LOT lol .....
Just tell me they are the same, so i don't go nuts searching the difference rofl.

BitTorrent bought up UTorrent some years ago so the clients are probably very similar now, personally I switched over to QTorrent when the 3.4.3 branch of UTorrent started becoming problematic with bundled offers, tracking features and numerous bugs.
(Haven't had any issues with QTorrent so far. - http://www.qbittorrent.org/news.php )
Tixati is also pretty popular and Vuze is another good client though it apparently uses a bit more RAM although I believe it has improved since back when it was known as Azureus and powered by Java.
EDIT: QTorrent is also open source with a open file repository.
(Numerous contributions and it seems to be updated near daily though main releases are a bit slower, usually up to a month or so between them unless there's a serious problem that needs to be fixed such as the 3.2.3 release fixing a problem with the search feature.)

I've been using qBitTorrent for a long time. Its worked okay for me. I used uTorrent before that though.
My impression is that there isn't much of a difference in how they work, so its down to personal preference, really.

Why not stick to good old uTorrent 2.2.1 (build-25130) ? No bundleware malware spyware, stable, fast, light. Other than that I recommend Deluge, really good client except on Windows it's not as reliable sometimes - if system crash occurs there's quite high chance your profile folder would get corrupt or something and all torrents would have to be rechecked.

qB is nice for most of the times.
But it has its problems, it came to a point that I'm now thinking of going back to Ut 2.2.1 or Deluge.

Why that version? Newer versions are just fine too when you know what to edit and not to be a retard and press next next next in installer
Been on 3.4.2 for quite some time now, not a single issue and works just as fine as other versions I've had through the years.

I'm another freebooter who's still sailing aboard of the u221 galleon xD. Don't have any temptation to change it since as long as the torrenting machine does its filthy basic torrenting job without rioting and sending spies, everything is fine to me.

Another vote for Tixati. Does it have an option to shut down the computer when a download finishes? Couldn't find that so far.

Utorrent 2.2.1.. Qbittorrent lacks so many features and behave strangely at times. Try adding many torrents at once, that's a real finger workout, that's for sure. Also lacks date for when torretns were added so if you use rss and have a solid list of torrents you'll be completely lost in no time.

Like what?
I like that Qbittorrent actually uses a tree for folders contrary to utorrent

It has an "added on" column?

Ohh shit. I didn't bring up the selection menu. My fault.
Still, when you add a bunch of episodes of a series or whatever you need to go though one hell of a process. You always have to scroll down to the bottom to find the last selected folder, and it's annoying as hell.

If you use the old version due to ads etc you can use the latest and turn off all the ads, then enter the hidden options areas and turn off even more, been using utorrent updated for an age now and get no ads or problems.
There are instructions for turning all that shit off and the hidden commands online.
