Actually there is another video for Doom, where they say its max settings + 4k + Vulkan:

Averages at about 70fps.

Also according to a german website, AMD was actling like dickheads and didn't answer any of the questions they asked them Laughing
(Google Translate)
Quote:
A glance into the interior of the system was not allowed: There is no viewing window, the ventilation openings at the top of the housing are glued - not even mentioning the careful watching staff. To technical details of the system was also no word to the AMD coworkers: One did not even want to announce whether the computer is the largest Vega used. A quick look at Doom's graphics setting revealed that the game was rendered using a volcano.

// And apparently Nvidia will announce something big (1080 Ti) near the AMD Ryzen preview to torpedo (?) them again. grinhurt

AMD was always only good at offering some light competition so nvidia cant go overboard with the prices.
I thank all the people wasting their money on AMD products so I don't have to.

Looks like there is no live stream of that presentation.

They just uploaded a few videos on their YT channel and it looks like that's it for now:

so 4k ultra in doom 70fps. thats slightly above a founders 1080 iirc. but as its vulkan, not a surprise that amd performs good.

as long as they dont show doom in opengl or any dx11 and 12 games with real values it says nothing (and imho its a bad sign that they only show vulkan in doom and nothing else so far)

Well apparently there was no AMD presentation at CES scheduled at this time - it's 6:30AM in Las Vegas. Very Happy

So the countdown was probably only for those few videos that were made public at 6:00AM PST.

Why would you do a countdown for this? AMD's marketing department continues to show outstanding levels of professionalism Laughing

Looks like the countdown was also to the end of the NDA, as there is couple of PREVIEW articles published as we speak.

Seems like AMD is once again late for the party and we have another fail in our hands, doesnt sound impressive at all, DOOM with vulkan, which is supposed be much faster on AMD side, and its slightly below GTX 1080 performance, what an fail presentation aswell Laughing. But if its GTX 1080 performance, its not really that fail, but it needs to priced competively.

@ AMD.

Seriously, just out of protest for their absolutely terrible marketing and sales strategy i'm probably going for Intel/Nvida again.

Other topic, but just look at Kabylake for example. Already so many benchmarks with actual numbers available. Meanwhile for Ryzen: [ . ]

There are some rumours about 1080Ti coming around PAX (10th March) but hard to tell at this point.

https://www.reddit.com/r/nvidia/comments/5mmcrn/nvidia_gtx_1080ti_coming_around_pax_east_10th/

I think they are either waiting for AMD to "go first" or they still have good sales of 1080, so no reason to rush 1080Ti release.

LinusTechTips was allowed to take some pics of the Vega cards

https://www.computerbase.de/2017-01/radeon-vega-foto/

So, they still only have prototypes available?
This will take many more months till they will be sold to consumers.

It was supposed to be first half of this year, and most reasonable expectation would be the end of said half.

uargh, not a good sign that they have taped all connectors. what does that mean? pretty sure its needs 2x8pin power connectors (which could offer up to 300w + 75w from the slot)

but its not that long, the last part is the debugging board whatever

Maybe they want to hide that their prototype allows for higher power draw for testing purposes, than the final product will actually need. Come on, lets spin this more positively. Crushed hope only feels bad if there is hope Razz

What do you mean...it's a pretty standard size, looks about the same size as gtx 1080 to me.

And I thoguht it was well known that we won't see Vega until mid 2017.
