Hello,
Has anyone had a problem getting this game to run? I am getting by the protection but as soon as I see the credits (The first thing to appear after double clicking on the desktop icon) the game reboots my pc. I have the newest drivers for all my hardware. I have also tried ATI Catalyst 5.12 and 5.13 drivers. I am using DTools 4.0 and mounting disc 1 and 2. I know disc 2 is the play disc. I have even copied the data directory from disc 2 to the install directory and that didn't help either. The game just reboots my pc. I have searched for THQ forums but wasn't able to find them.
Any help would be greatly appreciated,
Thanks,
CNM

COOL!!! I found this on Daemon Tools site! Thanks the info Hfric!
today we released the new V4.0.3 of both, X64 and X86(32bit)
version of DaemonTools
Please check out our download-section
This version fixed some small and not so small glitches/bugs
introduced with V4.0.0 (X86) and V4.0.1 (X64)
One blacklist fixed (a SF-Game, that behaved odd when running
from virtualdrive)
RAID-Bugs fixed, too
Some reboot-problems also fixed
Nero-issues also fixed
Additional functionality (for X86-version, X64 already contained it since very first version): Disable "Open file handle" dialog, as it seems it annoyed some users.
We herewith also confirm the latest blacklist introduced by
Securom (SeriousSam2-patch). This blacklists will not be
possible in future versions anymore (as in old 3.xx-series,
we will add feature to randomly generate names for driver-parts). As we got info about it, we couldn't fix it with
this version, but work is in progress for next release already
EDIT: We also offer a bunch of tools especially for new V4, f.e. Anti-Blacklist-Tools, DaemonScript for V4,
Translations and other tools - stay tuned!

Yep, my PC still reboots, even with DTools 4.03. This is not a DTools problem. The rebooting problems with DTools were NForce mobo related. This is an ATI problem I believe. I just installed the new 5.13's and I still have a reboot problem. Has anyone tried going back to an older driver like 4.12? Has anyone tried just installing the ATI Driver without the Control Center? Let us know if you find a fix?
Thanks,
CNM

No, I haven't had a chance yet. What really pisses me off is that THQ has nothing posted on this problem yet. They have nothing, no forums. Terrible customer service.

got a new Nvidia video card arriving tomorrow, will uninstall my ATI drivers and install the latest Nvidia Forceware drivers and try the game again to see if the problem is "definately" down to ATI's drivers.

Well installed my new Nvidia based video card and the forceware drivers and installed the game.
IT WORKS!!!!
so proof that the game crashing & reboting your system is all down to ATI's Catalyst drivers. I even installed my old ATI card into another PC and installed the drivers and the PC rebooted.
Think someone needs to inform the ATI Catalyst driver development team about this issue!

Nice, thanks Egg for figuring this out. I have an ATI Radeon 9800 and it reboots on me too. Hopefully THQ will release a patch or at least I hope ATI comes out with 5.14 and that fixes the problem.

Yeah I had a ATI 9800 Pro too and this game was the only game I could never get to work! Just got a Nvidia 6800GT and the game worked straight away! At least we know why now and so I emailed THQ and ATI and informed them of the problem. ATI are usually pretty good with resolving issue's and just hope they look into it for those people that really want to play the game on their ATI based systems.
