That site of yours is really nicely done Oddmaker, its a genuine shame that the forum doesn't appear to have an active userbase. Smile

It amazing GFX wize but nothing really knew....I hope Online will rock....I'm buying...

oh this time when you knock a guy down from a stomock shot he doesn't look like he's been knockout from a punch to the head. It only took EA years to put this in....stupid EA. Mad

Thats how they make their money every year, by leaving stuff out and sticking it in at a later date. Slight tweaks to the graphics, updated rosters, gamebreakers, gold frigging teeth etc.

I mean take Fight Night Round 3 - how hard would it have been to add a first person view to the game even for the sheer novelty value. Also adding small stuff like when your hit with a low blow your character actually takes the blow like hes been clocked in the nuts rather than the announcer merely saying "Oh, that was a low blow" (your supposed to be playing a man after all not a eunuch, getting hit in the nuts isn't something you shrug your shoulders at), some form of random slips could also have been implemented followed by standing counts, clashes of heads, a crib and achievements tracker (like the 2K games), a stadium/gym creator, clothing creator/editor with the ability to import and create your own images and import images from the web, the abilty to hire and fire staff and trainers from a more complete selection of personal ala the career mode in NFL 2006 with your agents pull actually influencing the fights you get and title shots, press conferences again like NFL 2006 to raise your rep prior to a fight and stir shit up.

I can't remember if there was a visible ref in the first 2 games but even just putting in a ref to visually disipline low blows and foul play plus separate clinches is stuff that should be in the game as well.

How much would you bet against some of that stuff making it into the game at a later date when they've exhausted the series. Smile

I was expecting another useless EA game but FNR3 is kickass. Love the graphics (some of the most next gen stuff so far) and I love how the guys fall on their face with ragdoll physics and face rippling etc amazing effects. Could be better but MAN its fun!

007 has all the gadgets. Batman has a utility belt! 007 drives a fancy car. Batman has the Batmobile! 007 gets all the ladies. Batman has ROBIN!!!

I wondered that as well mainly because EA developed a few of their recent next gen 360 games from the ground up using different development teams. Madden and Fifa for example.

As I was saying to cybersurfer on the other thread I'd been playing Round 2 again over christmas and its still a pretty sweet looking game, sure its not going to compete technically with the 360 but even if they make little or no improvement on the graphics thats good enough for me. In part because as I said personally Round 2 still looks nice and partly because im more interested in the new features and gameplay. Guess all we can do is wait and see.

Anyway when it gets closer to release if someone doesn't beat me to it I'll put up an old Xbox thread so that those of us unfortunate enough not to have an Xbox 360 (including myself) aren't seen to be crashing this thread. Razz

Is the only way to get this demo by downloading it from Xbox Live and playing it from the hard drive? I dont have a hard drive and I would have thought it would be on this months official Xbox 360 magazine dammit! My friend downloaded it onto his hard drive and I was wondering if there was any way I could get it onto a dvdr which as far as I know is at the moment impossible. Someone correct me if I am wrong please! It sure as hell wont go onto my 64mb memory card and I figure the only way Ill be able to play it is by asking him to lend me his hard drive and really dont think he would agree to that. Actually that may not even work. Does anyone know if you can use someone elses hard drive on a different console?

Yes looks like you can connect an USB 2 exetrenal drive to your 360 - http://www.llamma.com/xbox360/mods/USB%20Hard%20Drive%20Mod.htm - allows you to install all content you want rather than d/loading it thru live service, etc

So you can only use laptop HDD's or can you use a desktop hard drive? Because that sounds like a cool idea.

I was actually referring to the official Xbox 360 hard drive but that reply is really quite interesting thanks.

Well it looks like you have to format the drive to FAT32 partitions. Use partition magic, etc to format >32GB partitions. Then copy the content across thru Windows (so prolly not much use for the demo unless its accessible via Windows). Then "plug it into your 360 and go to media and select portable device and bam.. there's YOUR media".
Any USB2 HDD enclosure should work like Argosy with an IDE drive in it

Any external media (ipod, usb mem stick, usb hdd, digital camera etc) only lets you play mp3 and view .jpg images. NOTHING ELSE.

So the only way you can get FNR3 onto your 360 is by downloading it from marketplace to your hdd. The demo .xex itself is signed only to run off the hdd so burning it to a dvd-r would not help. Similarly as the OXM demo disc .xex (or retail games) are signed to run off a factory pressed dvd only.

I have a few questions about those external drives, someone help me out here.

1. Does it HAVE to be a laptop HDD to be compatible with the 360?

2. Are USB hard drives used as storage devices ONLY? I mean can you do things like play games off of them (on PC) or watch movies and stuff? Or you have to use it on an IDE cable inside your computerlike a normal HDD for that stuff?

3. If you can play games off of it then you could download 360 demos from the marketplace and play them on the USB HDD right?

ok..thats it. I appreciate any help.

On a 360, MP3 and .JPG only. That excludes everything you said, from videos to whatever. You cant transfer anything from the USB HDD to the 360 either, so no copying mp3. Only JPG can be "copied" as your dashboard background.

On a PC you can use an USB2 HDD just like an internal one.

No it can be any IDE drive that you stick in a USB2 enclosure (as I understand it)

On a PC a USB drive behaves just like an internal drive - you can play games off it, watch movies, listen to MP3s, etc

According to Subander you can only play movies & listen to MP3s off the external USB drive. You can d/load games & demos to *a* drive - which is probably the 20GB stock drive you buy with your 360 console Sad

I think they chose to implement it but not fully, supposedly what happens is if an EA "Stun punch" tm connects then the game reverts to first person view and its a case of dodging and fending off the punches or landing the killer blow.

Might be that the first person view proper is available as an unlockable, I've seen some games doing similiar things in the past - speculation on my part though and as I said half way up the page even as a novelty it would have been nice.

If you check out any of the Xbox/360 sites screenshots for this game you'll see the first person view in action. Wink

Does anyone know if you have to use the thumbsticks to simultaneously move the circles into the centre to recover from potential unconciousness and ultimately a defeat after being knocked down similar to the previous two Fight Night games? That was a most excellent feature in my opinion.
