just FYI i didn't buy NMS (not my genre) and only played couple hours of mode base yarr version (was okay with moded out some annoyances, nothing so bad you would rip eyes of the dev for - but imo not even digital homicide production is that bad )

So, meh-sale soon over.
Only bought two games, which i really wanted and also will play now:
- Age of Empires II HD: Rise of the Rajas
- Watch_Dogs 2
Other games i wanted had crap discounts . Or had good discounts, but i didn't plan on playing them anyways anytime soon.
So might as well wait more, hoping for even better discounts.

What I ended up with this sale in the end:
Gabriel Knight - Sins of the Fathers

And got gifted: Subnautica (thank you snuggles *kiss*)
Had nothing to spare than what was in my steamwallet this year. Gabriel knight was sponsored by the steam cards sold from those purchases (Yeey overpriced FF cards!).

Didn't spend much either because of the trembling finances, but I too grabbed myself Age of Decadence, Shadowrun Hong Kong (to complete the collection) and the Unreal pack. Good games men, enough to feel satisfied

Never received refund on 2+ hours , nice way to deny refund from developers would be put lot of cutscenes in opening hours and tutorial section and there goes your 2 hours and you cannot refund once the actual gameplay is shit

Ok, thx for quick reply. I don't think I'll even try to ask for a refund then since I lost track of time. Should have had a fucking alarm set to like 1h 30min when trying the game.
I'll just have to suck up the loss; the game I bought made me motion sick but only after a while and now I don't want to start it back up. Ah well. Fuck.

I bought ... zero games. I bought Deus Ex MD right before the winter sale and it had the same discount during the sale anyway. Very very weak sale. It's easy to give 66% and 75% discounts when you start from ridiculously overpriced games - €60+.
When you consider that cd keys actually cost less than most recent games on sale, you know how pathetic the Steam sales have become.

I only bought Silent Hill Homecoming as it was about $1.50 after the event card money and was always something I wanted to try. Overall, Steam sales have been terrible since they got rid of the Flash deals as these prices end up being the same every sale so miss out on it now, get it for the same price the next sale in 2-3 months.

its clever on valves part though. they know how engrained sales are in steam users...
prices remain high, they still sell a lot of games, make a shitload of money from card transactions, and because people know theres no reason to rush for flash sales and price glitches (which mostly all seem to be ironed out), they spread the server load much more evenly, so they dont need to bother with upgrading their servers to handle the sale load.
profits are high, their effort is now minimal. congratulations valve, youve finally made it.
