the fucking modem has NO dhcp cause it doesnt need one! it gets is ip from the isp, and if its directly connected to any pc THAT will be the fucking ip of the fucking ethernet adapter. it does not need any other internal ip range shit. thats why its a modem and not a router!
try installing the other network drivers for your adapter, no the one delivered with windows. already might fix. otherwise as i said maybe the router and the adapter doesnt like each other at all -> set a fucking static ip on your desktop

not tried linux or static ip yet but noticed something very strange.
The wired pc connection is stable but basically dies when I run a game! yesterday it was re7 demo every time and now it's quantum break. Drivers did not helped, pc restart did not helped.
What is weirdest though is that router reset DID NOT helped if I just had the game in borderless window.
I have no idea what is going on but it must be something on the wire between my pc and router.
edit: If it's the cable then fuck me.. I will have to spend hours on replacing the cable
edit2: But I doubt it's the cable. When it works it have great stable speeds. And it never crashed in desktop mode. wired connection drops only when ingame. So it must be something with either router, pc or realtek lan.
To try next:
-static ip (although I heavily doubt it's this)
-Installing Linux on router like gargoyle
-trying another router
-trying another cable
-or just trying pci lan card to isolate motherboard realtek lan
-switching power options to high. I am now on balanced but i doubt it's this
edit3: So I installed lan drivers (which dit not seem to have helped) and one more thing I never install since windows 10 exists... intel chipset drivers. I always thought they did nothing.
I installed chipset drivers now and let's see. I have a strange feeling because internet disconnected and reconnected during installation...

The WR1043ND is a solid device. At least v1 was. I have several running dd-wrt. Never had a problem.
I doubt that static IP will solve your problem.
If nothing works, try dd-wrt or openwrt.
And whie everyrhing works solid so far (to short time testing to see) i am having one issue.
In order for wan port to detect connection from modem I have to rwconnect wan cable to router physically.
That is after every reboot/restart of router.
That might not be a problem if I wont need to be restarting it. We will see.
I still will try static ip option on gargoyle.

update:
Gargoyle did not helped. Getting the same internet deaths after playing any video game. That is insanely weird.
Played some crysis 2 and after quitting it for just 30 minutes, connection was down. Just as in re7 or whatever else I play since I am using wired connection to pc.
ANd on top of that I have to reconnect wan after restarting router cause gargoyle is fucked.
Restarting pc still does nothing after internet connection drops when in game. and it does not drop when I am just on youtube or anything.
I could not get static IP to work for nothing... It must be that gargoyle shit.
Ok, last things to do is:
-different cable from router to pc
-connecting straight from modem to router and playing same games for same amount of time to see if it disconnects.
Best scenario would be if it also dropped on other cable and worked good on modem. Then I would just need another router... So I guess You can drop recommendations now
edit: ok tested other cable and it's also disconnecting so it's router because when connected directly to modem, no disconnections happen.
edit2: wait.. what ?! Direct modem to pc slows down and needs reconnection too.

I did checked cables and they are ok.
For cable going from modem to router, I cramped new plugs. And for router->pc, I have 2 different cables (one new and one old) adn they both behave the same.
One thing for sure, I reverted from gargoyle because that thing was not helping and only introduced other problems
Things I've done now and testing:
-Cleaned lan port on back of pc with alcochol
-moved usb keyboard and mouse in other slots as they were in the same "unit" as rj45.
Next thing will be reinstalling windows just to be sure. And if that won't help I have router at my parents house which I;ve got them 2 months ago. It's some asus ac51u or something like that.
I doubt it's router fault because the damn thing is slowing down and so on when I am connected directly to modem too(I need to test it longer again) but that don't rule out pc problem.(I still have not searched for this modem but They use it for every house and people are not complaining)
So best course of action might still be trying out pci ethernet card.
I am 99% sure it must be something with pc.... because reliable test for connection dropping is to play any video game. I am not comparing 2004 butcher bay to remake and when switching between those 2 games, it crashes almost 100% of times after I quite any of those games... Same happened with crysis 2 yesterday 90% of times. It's magic.

its very strange. maybe the ethernet port is dying or something (had it a few years ago with an asus board, that had two ethernet chips, one died after 2-3 years first with random connection errors and finally completely with not detecting any cable)
BUT have you set a static ip now? its still can be a strange dhcp issue (yes you deactivated it already in the router, but the lease was still active otherwise you wouldnt have had any connection)
I tried but It did not wanted to work for some reason... But i did connected straight to modem and had similar results.
(I just tried copying the same it gave me automatically as static)
I also tried disabling dhcp and having only pc connected but I still had the issue
Oh and I did restarted modem on most ties.
edit: moving other usb devices away and cleaning ethernet port did not helped.

Ok I finally got it.
It is just a broken(or just bad) router. That tp link wr1043nd it seems.
I got asus ac51u from my parents and it works. no disconnects or slowdowns.
And that would be the end of it except its a terrible fucking piece of flaming garbage
That cheap plastic toy only have 10/100 wan and lan ports... and at that outputs max 60mbits on wired and 30-40 on wireless
It is insane how bad this router is. meanwhile I get solid 100 during day directly from modem and 200 at night.
Asus should get whips to the back for this. It says 733 mbps, ac, 300mbps. And yet ONLY on website in specifications somewhere hidden it says that wan is 10/100
So I need a xdsl router recommendations. Apartment is small. pc in the same room on wire... wifi needed only for smartphones and laptops. no need for ac. Range is too shorts and benefits in speed to small.
I think I want to avoid routers from Asus and tp link now.
is netgear, netis or d-link stuff any good? and I have a grudge against cisco so...

You should avoid d-link routers, Zyxel makes good routers believe it or not.
AMD Ryzen 9 5900X | Noctua NH-D15 chromax.black | ASUS Crosshair VIII Dark Hero | 32 GB Trident Z 3600Mhz | Gigabyte Aorus PCIe4 1TB SSD | Corsair MP510 1TB SSD |ASUS RTX 3080 Ti TUF | Fractal Design Define 7 | Seasonic 850W Platinum
the 3 routers they have in Poland are like 700pln... which is twice as much as I want to spend on router.
For comparison wr1043nd costs 200pln. It is the one I have. It have good signal and speeds but crashes the wan... so not sure if I should get another one of these. Probably not cause I found other users experiencing the same

A lot of choice not sure what to get because they all have the same specs !
I would prefer not to spend more than 300/400 pln
so maybe this ?ASUS RT-N18U
It looks the same like the piece of shit I got from my parents which is not getting more than 60mbps wired

I've seen this topic. It is not my issue.
besides, I've just tried different router and it works ok. So it's no pc fault, cable or modem.
It IS router's fault and at least gargoyle did not helped

Yes - all else ruled out, I agree. but nothing to lose (well -time...) with trying different firmwares...
I mean, this thing is such a nice router for what it costs - if it works :/

If its triggered by a game it could be some QoS shit that the router doesn't like and cant handle
Some nic drivers do that but its a complete gimmick because it doesn't do anything
Yeah could be.
Reliable test is to play a game for few minutes. Turning it on or off does not disconnect. Does not matter if its isodemo or steam game. Online or not.
Ok I will hold with buying router. Maybe get pci ethernet card for test
Edit: lol I found this usb to ethernet external device. It should be perfect to try if my mobo have problem.
No I just nees to get my ols router back from my parenta and test again.
